Just saw a "Mail Call" where they show off this thing. Very impressive.

Semi-Auto, Collapsable Stock, Multiple rounds of ammo possible, less recoil then standard Shotguns...oh yeah and mean looking lol

Maybe worth putting in?

thats what i was questioning, just dont see shotties, as much as I love 'em, useful to marines because so many other weapons like the m4a1 are good at close and long range

Yes, the Marines and other US forces do use shotguns in combat, but they are a specialized weapon, not used in every circumstance. These photos are from Iraq; the first one features the M1014 (Benelli M4) Joint Service Combat Shotgun.

Yeah they showed all kinds of recent footage of iraq with soldiers using the Benelli. Also I think it's referenced in "Generation Kill" when they are driving through one of the small towns. I know he referenced Benelli shotgun, can't remember model though.

Someone mentioned it's also known as M4, I think thats the civilian model? But again, not positive of that.

Seeing as the Benelli is Semi-Auto it may balance the game better with the MEC shotgun. maybe? Lol

I love it when the military experts show up with cool photos! Thanks guys.

In close confined combat nothing is more suitable for the job then the shotgun (semi auto). Its overall spread per round and lack of penetration past its first hit makes it very very practical in close quarter combat.

Not to go off topic, but in that first picture there is a tube with the end of the tube near the small pack at the soldiers stomach. Any idea what that is? Some sort of "camel pack" for water?

The British learned in Malaysia how effective the shotgun can be in jungle close-combat. You can see the Brunei resident Royal Gurkha Rifle battalion with shotguns in their sections, sometimes. Will find a photo.

[Edit]Here's one:

They may also be in use by the Royal Military Police, Royal Marines Fleet Protection Group, RM Brigade Patrol Troop or 16th AA Brigade / Parachute Regiment Pathfinder Troop. SAS and SBS are not the only units trained for long-range patrol, CQB or Jungle Warfare.
