I may be wrong here but if you put your eye all the way up to a scope and then fire it wont you get a nice big fat bruise over your eye?

Can we get a scope like this.

Image

Would allow you to see beside you as well which will help when sniper :-P

the thing is when using a scope you close the eye which you dont look thorugh the scope with. And you only focus on whats inside the scope thus not giving you a clear view of what is around, it would be nice though if it was possible to blur everything outside of the scope when in zoom mode

Not possible. The BF2 engine cant handle multiple levels of magnification on one screen. Would be nice though.

Well, if thats not possible, would it be possible to change the black colour around the scope?! and make that fuzzy??

I'll do one of my cool paint pictures for later, so hold on...

No, because that area would be zoomed in also. So you wouldn't get the effect you wanted. You'd just have a black circle with a clear view inside, and fuzzyness outside.

But if theere is no other way this would be the best way to get that effect.

Here it goes:

The effect that creates isn't a zoomed in look. It looks more like the SpecOps sight, where he is looking through a sight, but it's not zoomed in.

I think I had that happen accidently when i tried to make a "mod" importing sf weapons on the normal bf2. The thing like FN2000 scope was like that, and FAMAS, etc.

You still don't get it.

I was trying to show how the distorted effect would look like. I know it isn't zoomed in.

I don't think its possible to make an effect like that and it still wouldn't accuratly portray looking through a scope like in real life. If anything the inside of scope needs work, if you've ever looked through a rifle scope before the inside edges are somewhat obscure and only the center is clear...kinda like an eagles vision.

not necessary, it depends on how much have u training diopter sighting and the magnification level.

i can aim with my both eyes open, the thing is, whats ur dominant eye?.

i aim with my right eye very well, but i couldnt do so well with my left one, and sometimes i close my right eye, because tunnel effect.

if u can manage diopter sighting (or whatever is called) u might see like the image initialy posted by desert fox.

an advice.....

training ur diopter sighting:

- grab a pencil and try to align the pencil (or sight) with an imaginary point , u might see 2 pencils (an imaginary one and a fake one), if ure trying to aim with the right eye, align the pencil with ur right eye and choose the left image (thats the real one). if u are sighting with the left eye, do the opposite thing.

-at the beginning ur eyes can hurt a little, do this exercise in short times of sightings and rest them in the double of time. u have to increase ur times to make ur brain and ur eye more comforrtable.

-when u re ready, ur eyes will develope an muscle memory (when ur muscles react automatically or, u can google it) so the pain will be gone.

-try differents sighting distances.

Hi there again.

I already post something about this subject earlier. I do some photoshoping and i think that what you are requesting is something like this;
Image

Or something like this;
Image

This is just for the M24 but can be aplied to the other sniper. I dont know if the BF2 engine support the first option. The second is just a thicker riticle so it could be easier to aim at long range. Dont know if you have more ideas for this subject. But if you have just tell and i might be able to improve that photoshop image to get something close to want you want, that way we could help DEVs alot.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Focha

EDIT: I also tell earlier that we could make some effect on the scope that when you move with the scope in your eye you will see black in the sides of the scope, that happens when you are not with your eye centered in the scope or when you are not with the eye in the right position. That could be done like the normal iron sight, making two piecies, one is the reticle and the other is the scopes tube, when you move you see black in the corners of the scope, what do you think? Maybe is to hard to do. I dont know. Well i leave the sugestion here. Bye.

So is that possible in BF2 engine or what? So many new post that the old ones are just forgotten. :shock:

Best regards to all.

I'd think a combination of engine limitations and lower spec user limitations would come into play here. I dont think it 100% nesscesary and not really worth the hassle.
(dont get me wrong, its a hell lot more worth than other stuff that pops up in suggestions)
