Patroling as a Scenario

First off, I'm not sure, this might be a programming nightmare, but I thought it would be extremely realistic (and a lot of fun) to have a scenario in which, say the Marines, have to follow a certain path that is the length of a map and back. You could put control points at parts of the map where the road narrows and insurgents can spawn, and the Marines could spawn in a base in a motor pool of humvees. In town areas, I thought maybe the road should be only one humvee wide so if the insurgents knock out a vehicle in the middle of the road the Marines have to go around the town or get out and fight for the CP.

What even better would be that the insurgents have 1 uncappable and there spawnpoints are in 30 different buildings and if they go out of the buildings they get a "Get back to the fight!" So there only choice is to ambush.

well the question would be like.. is the point to get to the other side of the map? or ... or just.. chill out? because if you've got a team that can drive hummers well.. and the whole point was to get to the other side... the map would be done quick.

but.. if you just had it likea regular map, only the map size was tiiiny, but reaalllly loooong, than... you would just go up and down and up and down.. and where is the fun in that.. or would it just be like regular maps where you cap and flag and move forward?

how horrible would the lag be? we already have problems on tiny maps like street, where there is a small area and alot of people. would there just be hardly any statics to reduce lag? or just a map for people with l33t haxxors computers?

i love the idea too, but i dunno how "physically able" it would be on the computers cramming all that stuff into a small space.

I think this would be very cool. If the defenders were limited to a small area around the flag they were defending, and if they left the area it would be like leaving the battle zone so they couldn't wander off. Please tell me it's possible to do this, it would be an awesome new gameplay.

Lag on Street? Huh?
