Helo Suggestion

Well its just a thought but I think it would be cool to have a Little Bird helo on the strike at karkand map. (From the movie Black Hawk Down) I don't know what you would give MEC though if you were to add that. I just think it'd be easier if you go with the spawning at main base only to drop people off because its a small helo that you could land on those small streets. Please post comments or criticism on the suggestion.

It is a must, but I think PR will do away with the vanilla BF2 maps since they are fictional locations. Since its quite obvious that Strike of Karkand is damn there everyone favorite map, you can bet on PR making a somewhat similiar one.

Sorry about posting I didn't really look to see if it was already suggested I should probably start doing that.

Yea it has been suggested by many including me

ops:!
But thats because people see it as a much needed heli.
Can be used in tons of different setups and given its size as stated is perfect for urban areas.
Also i would think allot of PR's maps wil be urban based as thats where todays warfare is concentrated the most.

What will it be, the Kiowa or the Defender?
What about the Gazelle for Brits?

Most discussion is in these two threads.

MD500-series Defender is the manufacturer / foreign military sales designation for it. In US service it is known as the H-6 Cayuse or "Little Bird" (in special operations).
The Kiowa Warrior is used by conventional Army units, wheras the A/MH-6J is used by the US Army's 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). However, Kiowa Warriors did work alongside US special oeprations forces in Operations Prime Chance/Earnest Will in the Persian Gulf in the years just prior to ODS.
Gazelle isn't just used by the UK, it's a very widely used helo; almost as ubiquitous as the venerable Huey. Syria has a couple of squadrons, as did Iraq, and China has a small squadron of them (they comprised the PLA's first dedicated attack helo squadron).
Oddly enough, I don't think the Gazelle has filled the armed scout/light-attack role for the UK since the Falklands. After that war, when they were actually armed, I had only seen photos with a GPMG jury-rigged in each passenger door or a trooper with a rifle. In the Falklands, they carried rocket pods, but I'm not sure why they stopped that practice. Any UK servicepeople who can clarify and/or verify?

That sounds right; the British Army official webpage for it (
http://www.army.mod.uk/equipment/ac/ab_gzh.htm) says
"Armament: 2 x 7.62mm machine guns (not a standard fitting)."

I would think rocket pods are not fitted anymore mainly because they are not practical unles them helos are needed in a role they do not normally fufill.
