"Wall of Death" shud be removed...

Imho, the "Wall of Death" in Al'Bsarah should be removed...The reason being is that most of the US guys just camp inside the base waiting for Helis and Jets and whatever, and the insurgents are just left to wait for a car/armour to go by occasionally...
I know that base raping in Al'basrah is leik omfg lethal! but since the "hunter" class is removed then i dont see why we cant attack their main base...i would think that this would stop people from camping for jets and helis, you wont be standing still for 10mins when you hear bombs go off at the entrance
So this, "wall of death" should be removed or reduced, allowing us to give the americans a run for their a10s...
Please, remove this thing that kills us when we get near it...its just not fair waiting for the americans to make a move, in one round i played , most of the USMC (this is like 95% of them) Where in the base screwing around...

If you ask me, al basrahs 64 size map still needs a lot of work on it to make the game enjoyable.
I agree with what skyline says because it always happens there is ALLLLWAYs about 15people at the airport doing naff all.
Other things that can go wrong is that the US find it difficult to get anywhere further than south VCP, although I have seen them go past this flag to mosque its still a pretty rare occurance.

I don't know. If I've got a couple of vets with me, we always seem to get USMC past South VCP.
Sometimes there's a little bit of back and forth, but it usually works out to be a fun match in the end.
I agree that it sucks when you've got a bunch of your team capping the back base. But the cure for this is to get rid of the A-10s (which would never be used in an urban battle against non-mechanized hostiles IRL), and toss in an LB and more hummers.
Don't get rid of the dome of death though. You'd have smacktards driving spawn cars there, and setting up sabatoge missions against spawned vehicles. There would be no way around it.

AHAHA just load up a Dirt Bike with C4 and drive as fast as you can and detonate on them... you have enough time before you actually die from the timer to make it.... Trust me
I have done it many times. Blackhawks that are starting thier engines and have about 4-5 pilot kits in them are ALWAYS the best target cuz you know they've been waiting there for 2-10 minutes

dont take down the wall of death.
The way the flags are being tested (APC's at north VCP) makes the US do something at the start of a round other than dance around in pilot kits.
Id like to see insurgents get a stolen M95 as a pickup kit in the city, that may stop the indestructable cobra syndrome (which is what is causing the hang around airport syndrome, why die when you can fly a cobra/A10? )
Also something more effective in bringing down the A10 would be nice (like a scud from DC! with missile cam where you pilot the missile!

)

from my experience albasrah most in 32. on air support that all you need is that 1 lb with machineguns and skilled a pilot. it is pretty hard to win round with 10-20 people as pilots killing eachother for planes. remove all other flying objects than one lb

I think the dome of death is fine. To me it simulates the distance a US airbase would have from the targeted city. It also keeps the fighting where it should be... in the city. I rarely ever see the US make it past the Mosque. I'm usually pretty bored as an insurgant on that map. The village flag holds no signifigance. When the US attacks and captures a flag, they very rarely set up defenses for counter attacks. Usually by the time I respawn at the nearby spawn car most of the troops have moved on to the next flag.
Maybe removing one A10 and adding a little bird would help. I love the two Cobras but I'm indifferent to whether or not the A10s are taken out. If they are then LBs should definately be put in.

This thread is a little redundant since the map maker has already removed the dome-of-death and
made the airport a cappable base and this will come in the server patch. You should probably take any further suggestions to
that thread too, rather than continue with this one.

REMOVE the a10's. really unnecessary and its just a "look at my kdr" ego pusher.
Its useless because the pilot may have 110 kills and 2 deaths but the insurgents own all flags except the village. so what is the point of it then? designers need to understand this

lol since there is no bleed the US can still win by killing sheer numbers of insurgants off. US won a round I played the other night. I was a Cobra pilot for half the round, and a pilot the other half. I had 1126points and 116 kills. While we never got beyond Mosque we won with tickets.

How is basra balanced? some chopper whore with a kdr of 150/4 is gonna bust in and say, cobra owns etc etc. dont nerf it. i ask you? is that fun gameplay to you? just endless killing in an invulnerable chopper?
how are we supposed to have a fair game, when
1- we have the same number of players (some people say swarm them with numbers)
2- their equipment is much better. stronger armor and 3 apcs
3- they have helicopters and raping cobras
4- they rearm and repair their planes and choppers at will so our defensive weapons have NO effect
5- our weapons are nerfed on purpose so as not to take down too many "hovering cobras"
Infact 95% of heli and plane crashes are accidents, n00b pilots crashing, or connection problems.
devs seem to be misleading plane and chopper whores that superior air power alone will win this map. they need boots on the ground. get rid of 50% the planes and helicopters

Anyway, Cobras are easily taken down or driven off. However when you go a whole round where people rarely shoot at you and you play smart, it is easy to rape. Hell I've ground pounded as insurgant on that map and had 61 to 15 KDR. Does that mean that insurgants are overpowered? No. It means I outplayed people THAT round. If you cry about the Cobra, then you need to be manning the AA, the .50 cals and the SA7.

I don't mind playing insurgent, it's a lot of fun if you use what's given to you, correctly. The extreme air supremacy problem is simple to fix. Rework the stinger missile so it will actually lock on and fire creating 90% damage on a helo or A-10 and scatter 2-3 stingers in the city. Make the stinger only able to lock on at 100 meters or less with 3 available rounds (1 loaded, 2 on back). An organized squad with stingers should have no problem shooting down choppers/a-10s. The hardest part of using the stinger should be getting close enough to a helo/plane and unloading on it without having US soldiers take you out first.

Just hop on AA or grab an AA kit, and keep out of the open! It's not difficult.
And you can swarm them with numbers because you have a much lower respawn time, meaning more players alive at any time.

How many stinger are already on the map for insurgents? Also, where are all of them located?
And the AA flak guns are useless. A average cobra/a-10 pilot will take you out no problem.
