The Balance of Armies

there is most likely a thread on this, but i couldn't find it and I don't really have time to scan through the hundreds of threads t find it. But since everyone wants more reality, would it be possible to set on some maps (and if liked all) that the US/UK teams would have fewer players and the PLA/MEC/Hajis get more players by using the team balance system. That way you could give the Army's their more armor or what not. I don't know if you can set the Army's to have balance like that but that would make it how some people want t i believe. but I also could be completly wrong and be mentioning something that has already been said.
Unbalance the equipment, thats the only way this could work out.

(Sorry about the spellings school keyboards suck)

...give more players? You mean like 32 vs 20?

They simulate that by giving injsurgants a shorter spawn time. Not by giving them more physical players.

lets say there is 64 people playing. You could put 44 on one team and 20 on another team. Or whatever tickled your fancy. Its team balance just it unevens the teams in favor of the armies ... in a sense its not even team balancing ... just the concept.

that would make us/uk really the last team ppl want to play as mec/pla are pretty equal to the us/uk. so that would make every map to impossble to win as uk/us. if you put more armor/apc for us/uk. then pla/mec still could have 32 ATs against 5tanks and 5apcs. so i really dont see nothing good that would come from this change.

well then they wouldn't be able to drive their tanks and APCs ... and then I think they would get stomped on ... There is also infantry. US/Uk just will have to be smarter then their enemy... talk the commander. US/UK could win all of them if they knew what to do.

I don't know if it is possible to have more than 32 players on one side. lol US has a hard enough time now with the insurgants on AL basrah.

people complain about teams when its 18-21 atm so i don't think this would fly

It would fly if the map was designed to favor the side with fewer players. I think it's a good idea.

I dont particularly like this idea, exept against insurgents. Against the conventional forces of the PLA and MEC the mod should be balanced through equipment and weaponry (thats not to say that everyone should have an equivelent of everything, of course) such as they might give the US the Mk.19 AGL, while the MEC might have no direct equivelent it would be balanced with another pice of equipment. Or to represent the difference in viechile quality the MEC might have 5 T-90s against 3 M1A2s. I dont really know, but for nation vs nation (or coalition for that matter) I'd rather keep it as it is and balance the mod through indirect balance, where each side has thier own strenghts and weaknesses.

well, i like the idea - had one similiar to this one here myself.
the key would be to imbalance the armies themselves - meaning for example giving the usmc a clear edge above the pla for example (by making their tanks stronger, more damage to blablabla and so on), otherwise it wouldnt make that much sense (if the armies remainded balanced alltogether)
