Only reason I like this mod is the Chinese maps.

The dense jungle is so much fun.

I have a growing distaste for the desert maps. Especially Al Basrah.

?

Sunset City, road to Kyon'gi, Security area, Ghost Train, Qwai River etc. How about no.

(Mao can go though)

The problem is since there isn't much Chinese urban statics you can't easily make good urban Chinese maps. So they're all Rural and stuff, and that kinda sucks for infantry combat.

I think the main things that make Chinese maps less enjoyable to the majority are:

- Really similar camo
- Lack of proper urban maps (except Sunset)
- Maps are really dark - we need some pacific and dragon valley style maps back that are abit brighter. Infact dragon valley was quite a cool map...
- With jungle maps, once you've played one you've played them all...

I dunno, me personally find them ok - i'd always take Ejod or Muttrah/Oman (once they get better balanced) over the PLA maps. Jungle warefare sucks especially with the M16 3 round burst. Something is telling me if the USMC were in Jungle combat where the enemy could pop up anywhere they wouldn't be toting around with 3 round burst M16's.

I love chinese maps. They're some of the best in PR, especially the jungle maps. Its a fantastic change from the open desert warfare on some MEC maps and the corners of death that is urban.

And if you took away my Jungle maps I wouldnt be able to rant on about "charlie" and such.

In addition, theres no reason there cant be a desert map featuring the PLA.

@ Mekstizzle: American troops arnt trusted to keep thier cool and fire in bursts with full auto weaponry. While this is almost certainly inaccurate these days, the M16A2 was designed with the lessons of Vietnam in mind. And with the conscript army of the Vietnam war they found that soldiers (particularly inexperienced soldiers) would switch thier weapons to full auto and simply spray an entire magazine in the general direction of the enemy. This lead to them rapidly running out of ammo, which has two major considerations:
1. They had to reload alot and may run out of ammo alltogether in the course of a single engaugement
2. Buying all that ammo is expensive. Like the 20 round magazine of the Vietnam era, the 3 round burst is a cost saving measure.

I love all the maps. I used to really like Mao Valley before AAS2. Those jungle fights were crazy.

chinese maps are way too vehicle and full of sniper whores for my liking but they do make a nice change from desert all the time.

Haha, you're crazy man. Chinese maps are great. Qwai River is one of the best maps in the game. And OGT is another great one. Sunset City's pretty sweet too.

I'd say the poll speaks for itself.

GB vs. PLA maps are the one I typically enjoy the most.
I'm getting real tired of sand.

Me too.

Maps like Qwai river are so great. It does suck if you're not in a good squad and your team isn't coordinated though.

Getting rid of the Chinese maps would be so foolish due to the fact that the devs have spent so much time working on the QBZ variants, new vehicles for the PLA, and the woodland UK skins. Not to mention it's just a nice area of operation to have in the mod.

Isn't that true of desert maps as well? I am getting pretty tired of the same old desert maps such as Al Fallujah and a few others except for the revamped ones. The desert maps have been played to death, and the reason why people like the Chinese maps is because there was never enough of them in VBF2 which had actual jungles or forests. People are tired of deserts and the same old MEC combat and want something different.

I find my experience on Steel Thunder different everytime as opposed to EJOD because the jungle is so huge and diverse that it allows for a lot of good squad movement and sneaking. All MEC maps seem to be about though is straight forward attacking.

get rid of LMAO valley and I'll be happy!
It feels like I own a commodore 64 when I run that map.

Im sick of people who only like the frag fest urban combat. Woodlands battle takes reall teamwork. Im sick of the overplayed cliche urban/desert combat that everyone is obsessed with since the Iraq war. Its so stereotypical now. war was first fought out in the open in the woodlands, its true combat.

The jungle maps are a joke. I run the game on the lowest settings, so the thick foliage doesn't render more then 30 yards away. Operation Pheonix, while not one of the PLA maps, is especially awesome (or bad?) because I can see people in the hay field no problem.

I don't run the game on low settings because I want to, I have to so I can actually play.

Uhm, yeah. And I'm sure your one of those people who think war has rules. And you probably think kicking a guy in the nads is cheap, right? Grow up. There's no such thing as "true" combat.
