ARTY for insurgents (brilliant idea)

BUT NOT STANDARD arty.

It would work them same(need to be called in), however, it would be MORTAR artillery. We all know insurgents have lots of mortars....and like to use them.

Just nerf down the artillery splash damage, space out the shots by a few more seconds, lengthen the attack by 5-10 seconds, change the incoming sound to that freaky mortar howling sound, and give the insurgents (mortar) artillery!!

god I'm brilliant.

OR just give the insurgents a mortar as a weapon to use, thus making it even less accurate and deadly.

that's along term goal I suspect jellybelly, but this is a quick fix to give the insurgents a bit more firpower.

i think something similar involving mortars replacing artillery in some regard is already planned. Personally i like man portable and/or 3 man mortar support weapons used like emplaced equipment but hey.... i've been campaigning for semi portable mortars for all armies for ages. There is a whole load of difference though between a mortar fired randomly roughly toward a huge camp and a properly trained and forward observer directed barrage.

Or my personal favourite, the CombatBoat 90 (featuring AMOS advanced mortar system)
awesome.. and the land vehicle varient is great too..

Mortars would kick some serious *** for insurgents, great idea imo.

It's also realistic, so that helps.

I havent seen one about using the current artillery configuration/operation and tweaking it to resemble mortar fire. I imagine it would be much easier than player controlled mortars, which many people have suggested.

PS: stfu.

AFAIK the artillery system is hardcoded so changing it might present a problem.

PS: Don't tell other people to stfu on this forum.

it's hardcoded, huh?
that's too bad.

when someone is a **** and types the'use the search' without thoroughly reading my post, I'll damn well tell them to stfu.

Major, the first thing I thought when I saw this was "another mortar thread..."

He's right use the search button, stop acting like a little baby, and stfu.

The only mortar thread that came close was cyber couch's post. when you search for mortar a whole bunch of 50 page posts come up. I'm ceratinly not going to go through everyone of those threads to find this idea.

you may have the time to do stuff like that, since you are so lonely and all, but not me.

Listen kiddo, I don't see what so hard to get here, the mods and devs insist on us using the search function so shit doesn't get brought up over and over again. All they ask is for us to do a minutes worth of reading but I guess a minutes worth of reading is too much of a strain for you.

Nope its not the striker, its the AMOS system mounted on the back of a CV90 chassis. I still think that boat is a damn fine piece of hardware. That multiple mortar system is designed to fire multiple mortars at differing elevations so that all the mortar rounds all hit the target at the same time.
