Commander Designated LZs

Is it possible to have a commander place an LZ zone? basically it would show up on all Transport pilots HUD as the location to drop off troops. This way we would know it has been cleared and different pilots won't land at different areas (As much).

I think this might have been suggested before.
Yes it is a good idea, but a squaddie could see the LZs if the SL marks them on hte map.

giving them to the Spec-Ops/Recon class would be better wouldnt it?

it would be good to see if a designated marker could be used, but usually a commander will use another icon to indicate it.
Personally though i prefer to have from the commanders perspective a SL mark a good safe location with coloured smoke for a LZ once i have given them the order to find and secure one, then call in the blackhawk to drop off some troops.

I like this idea. We actually talked about something similar in the DEVs forums.

i find commanders already in a way doing it themselves with the move order for the helo pilots. The same is done for the a-10 pilots on basra with a good commander, since the commander will then drop like a "Demolitions needed here!" marker on an outpost, so the a-10 will know where to deal the damage.

I like the idea. Finding a suitable LZ has to be the #1 priority of the commander and transport pilots. Nothing worse than having some narb fly a loaded chopper right into a hot flag zone. Everytime you either get RPGed out of the sky or you die as soon as your boots hit the ground.
