Battle-Recorder | DevFile

For quite some time I've wanted to make a good PR video, my video's are different than most. I really enjoy turning nothing into something, and by that I mean normally I'll take a public server Battle-Recorder & FRAPS it in Battle-Director, and the end result can be epic. It's alot of fun turning a simple BR into an epic battle. So I was wondering if there's any chance DevFile might enable Battle-Recorder in the future? Basrah is just screaming "MAKE A VIDEO" at me.

For the past 5 hours or so, myself, JuniperM40 & 3-4 other guys have been tanking in the 2 M1A2's on Al basrah & wreacking havoc while on the Insurgent side. A 6 man squad w/ every member using VOIP & just dominating the map. We had over a dozen VBIED attacks on our 2 tanks during the 2nd of our 2 round's.
Due to the new patch, the ticket bleed system was gone & it came down to collecting 600 kills. And during these 2 rounds all I could think was "Man I could turn this into an amazing video"....It was just amazing. An armoured Column thundering through the city, taking RPG hits, Suicide bombers & dodging Road side bombs, all on a full 60 man server!

It was set up and was automatically recording, we thought that BR might be the cause of the lag on the server so we shut it down. Turns out it was not and when the server emptys out tonight before I go to bed I will turn it back on and restart the server so its working.

When its set back up you can find them at: http://www.devfile.com/demos

You did a fine Job Beefy. =) Kept us on our toes..

I think I even complimented you guys a few times on how well you managed to IED/VBIED us during one of our romps through Facility. :)

Well done.... =)

Alright I managed to find the BR Demo of the big tanking round we had, and it's big, over 53MB in size! Well over an Hour & a Half of footage, so I'm going to spend most of the night looking over that several times, and just letting my creative imagination go wild as I watch it, thinking of good camera angles, soundtracks etc...

I do have a basic blueprint in my mind for the video though. It'll be a 2 sided movie, diving into the minds of both the USMC & Insurgents. It'll basically be a 2 sided character study, profiling both sides of the conflict. But not in a touchy soft hearted way.

It'll center on our armored column (2 M1A2's), and the struggles we go through as we attempt to capture the south western part of Al Basra (e.g Facility), as well as the Insurgents attempts to stop or slow our assault on the city. I'll also profile both sides battle tactics & the mindsets of each side.

Sounds deep I know, but it's just fancy terms for a good movie. It wont just be a lot of flashy effects & battle scenes, it's going to be a whole lot more! And everyone seen in the movie will be given credit (Including the suicide bombers & our entire squad, all 6 of us, as well as anyone who happens to end up in the movie))

I plan on using Sony Vegas 6.0 for the editing & Battle-Director/FRAPS for capture. Should take me a week or so, possibly more if I get some really good idea's.

Ah yes! Great times on Devfile the last few days.Hobbs,Animalmother,Juniper,SteelRainFilms,Claudiopolez and a few others I cant remember are devastating when on the same team, especially when manning armor. With any of these guys in an M1A1 the hadji's dont have a chance.
Thanks to all of you for such awesome teamplay and an excellent sense of humor. Also,I would like to give thanks to Desertfox for running & regulating a very fun server, cant wait to see this movie! :)

I think I was in that Armour squad for part of the game. I was Hagman - at first I provided some air cover in a cobra while you repaired your tanks and then I brought up the re supply humvee to the tanks. Its was loads of fun to help to keep the tanks going.

After downloading a demo on one of my games in your server desertfox I saw that the map grid was visible in the battle recorder, I had to drawhud0 to fix it.
