Turret Mobility

Another suggestion for you guys... I've noticed that in real life, the gunner of a turrent usually is equiped with 2 foot peddles, one for each foot. If he pushes down on his left foot, the turrent rotates left, and right foot, the turrent turns right. The mounted firearms, usually a .50 cal M2HB rotates on the pivet point of the mount. So the gun can still rotate left and right up and down but only on the mount. I'd like to see this incorporated into PR, use A to rotate the turrent left and D to rotate the turrent right, then the mouse is still to pivet the gun on the mount. I think it woud be awsome in PR, and make the turrents more realistic.

uuh, so you´re basically want a stabilized gun/turret?
if that´s the case, sorry it has already been suggested a couple of times and as far as i know it isnt possible right now due to engine limitations (but maybe the coders find a way around it in the future)

I'm not sure that that is what he meant. That might be the outcome of incorporating his idea into the mod though.
What I think he means is that the gunners A and D keys traverse the whole turret while the mouse is used to move the .50 cal.

Now, if doing it that way automatically means a stabilized gun then that might not be such a hot idea.... Then again, those babies ARE stabilized in real life. ;)

As for the BF2 engine being capable of doing it... I too have my doubts...
Still it is an interresting idea.

This has been suggested before - using a and d to move the turret and the mouse for minor accuracy corrections. Also reducing the turret spin speed to about 10 seconds for a full 360

not a good thing, PoE did it for BFV, and everyone hated it, including me.

the thing is, when your shooting someone and they go out of the mount range, you would have to press A or D to catch up to the guy, but by then he would be gone.

What came to my mind when I readed the suggestion was that can it be done by thinking the tanks in vBF2?

A to left and D to right when turret is being rotated by the mouse, as I dont know how the turrets are being done cant really tell or help more :\

that's why you have a 50 cal or gpmg on top for infantry. The current turret turns very fast with no stability when on the move.

Speaking of turrets can the Devs reveal whether
1) tanks will get a zoomable scoped 50 cal that can be fired buttoned up by the commander?
2) apcs will get a coaxial 7.62mm mg?
3) apcs will get also get a commander position with a remotely operated 7.62mm? (Canadian Lav III's have a turret mounted gpmg and Bradleys I believe are going to fitted with ones because of lessons learned in urban combat in Iraq. And seeing PRM is set in the very near future, having it remotely operated while buttoned up is realistic and doesn't punish the vehicle commander unfairly)

The above are imo vital for armour gameplay - any chance of all three?

At first I thought he meant Torrent, but then I saw he meant Turret.

Maybe Currents? Curry?

basically what I mean is A and D with rotate the entire Turrent, your mouse will be used to rotate the gun on the mount, you'll still be able to rotate the gun about 30-45 degrees either way, and up and down just like before. It'll be more realistic.
