Bunnyhopping Poll

by MrD
As a realism community, we tend to have certain guidelines for behaviour whilst gaming. This poll is to get a snapshot of peoples feelings towards those who bunnyhop in PR to avoid getting killed, whose spacebars are in danger of being worn out.
Please vote how you feel so we can see which way the community feels towards this issue, whether they see it as bad coding, an unavoidable compromise to getting over terrain or an acceptable ploy.
200 vs 12 today! I think that's pretty much where I thought it would be

I dont see so many bunnyhopers than before, so i guess something is better (maybe the community).
But when I'm shooting at a guy who is bunnyhopping, yeah, thats pure shit...

Well to some degree we are lacking in any kind of a dive or jump out of the way maneuver....But that still doesn't justify some peoples use...
Ive always tried to keep it to one jump for no reason at a time....So at times I will jump to dodge, then jump over a wall or something...To be honest the people who jump around are still easy enough to hit, and can't fire so it isn't really that big of an advantage....You also move to the side slower while jumping so you can get outa the way faster if you stay on the ground.

bunnyhopping is pointless in PR as jumping in the middle of a road aint going to save you, running to cover will. this is why you hardly see any one bunny hop, any one who dose is obvouilsy new and is still adjusting to PR.

Doesn't do them any good, they just die tired (as it should be).

If you try to hop away, you only die tired.

Why would you start this thread? I mean really, how hard is it to hit someone who is jumping...and can't shoot back? To defend someone who does it, BF2 lacks a dive. I mean if someone started shooting at you and your only course of action was to evade... well BF2 has no evade. So the so called bunny hopping could be a simulation of that. Again, my suggestion is get better aim if you can't shoot a slow jumping defenseless person.

Agreed, shooting bunnyhoppers is easy.

Alright. For those who are saying it is easy to kill a bunny hopper, it isn't at close range.
Sure, someone in the open is easy to kill when bunny hopping, it isn't when you have to slide the mouse across the desk.
On Helmand province there were a lot of bunny hoppers and they wouldn't stop hopping. They would appear ffor a split second, whereas if they weren't BHing they would have been an easy target.
Edit: + the hitboxes!

Point in front of the bunny, wait for it to get on your iron sight and shoot 2 bullets... the bunny hopper is dead...
I agree for hitbox problems but they happen even when they are running

Straight on they're easy, but not when they've just come from a sprint running infront of you sideways.

Shooting a person running from left to right is just as hard as hitting a bunny hopper. Try it and you will see. This is a non issue.

But it's the esthetics that count.

people are allowed to run across your FOV though without having exploited any bad code or behaving like kangaroos, destroying the very principals of realism this game is played on. This problem is a social one now and some people might be playing the wrong game as bunnyhopping is causing problems with many people and doesn't give the game the correct image the vast majority of the players want to see.
I see 51 to 5 against right now. That's looking a bit overwhelming against.

A US soldier loading up a jeep with c4 and destroying an MEC piece of equipment with his "jihad jeep". Is it acceptable practice for US soldier to employ suicide tactics? Put that in your ethics pipe and smoke it.
Oh and if I were able to select two votes on the poll, my other would be that I sleep fine at night if I do bunny hop.

Turning this into a thread about how well one can shoot compared to others is maybe taking it in the wrong direction? Even though I actually prefer people to bunny in a straight line than rushing left to right. It is easier to hit, but it just irritates me to no end. Why bunny? Why? It just got you killed!
Run, rush, instaprone behind a wall, jump behind a building - do ANYTHING rather than bunny.
