Co-Pilot aimed rockets

i think the copilot should get rockets like the ones used by the pilot, but get a zoomed tv screen too, i have seen pilots try to move in and attack a ground target with their rockets and either crash into the ground or zoom off going 800kph. realism can be implemented at the Dev's discretion. even if the copilot doesnt use it, maybe at least give some way to change elevation while in a hover.
pretty please?

The rockets are unguided, you have to aim the entire helicopter at the target to hit it. Making them otherwise would go against the whole 'reality' part in a big way.

maybe they should bring in 2 man jets and have that idea brought in. i dont know about giving helos that capability. that could help that airstrike idea. SL gets infra-red grenades so the jet can fly high and can lock onto it.

Copilots have hellfires what more do they need? Hydras are used by the pilot because he aims them with movement of the helo.
Draw distance causes the 800kph dive because it is hard to keep the thing level, slow, and aim six to ten rockets on a target at close range.
Copilots need the ability to use their eyes (like they actually do) to gun on top of the tv mode. It often becomes disorienting to switch the two; spotting then going to gun often never works.

However, I would like to see the ability to give the rockets some rotation (or elevation?) along the y-axis. I'm prety sure its possible in real life and it was available on the Apache in some DC mods for BF1942. The secondary fire button was used to raise (or lower--I forget) the rocket angle before firing. It was very handy and meant that you didn't have to nose dive at a target in order to hit it with rockets.
I've thought about that sort of thing from time to time myself and think it'd be great. I don't mind nose diving myself. But I'd sure rather just run over the target and have the missiles go down at a certain angle. As for the hyrdras being aimed by the co-pilot, I don't see that working very well.

how much bloody protection do you want in these choppers?

already you flares can out-do the SA-7, pretty much anything else is useless and now you want the devs to stop you crashing into the ground because you or your pilot cant use the normal missiles?!

I think he would be talking about the AH-6 little bird.
otherwise, nah lol.
I doubt the realism of this so i wouldnt think it a good move. Plus, it'd be like firing those twin rockets of the Chinook in BFVN which was impossible to hit anything while moving.

Just let the copilot in the LB fire his handgun out of the window like in BF:V... that would be fun.

The problem is the unskilled pilot is using the chopper like a lawn dart. Hyrdras are set up how they should be. You just gotta practice using them more. If they made everything easy to use, this game wouldn't be nearly as fun or rewarding.

The special forces class gets the SOFLAM to do that job.

the pilot NEED a camera to shoot the hydras , look at this video .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FadFwuDReyI
also the copilot can fire the gun , hellfire AND tows, no TV misils .

The aimpoint of the hydra rockets should be at the bottom of the HUD, not the center.
As well, the gunner should have the directional HUD that the pilot has with matching pilot markers so he can easily look where the pilot is facing without coming out of his gun. More information on the gunner's hud would be awesome, and a more realistic hud crosshair system would be sweet as well.
Pilots could also stand to have some of the gunner's hud info on his screen also. Ammo count, so he knows without comms when the gunner needs to rearm, or can better make decisions based on the gunner's load out... so he doesn't hover over a bridge or chase down a tank hoping his gunner can hellfire him when the gunner doesn't have any hellfires left.
Better communication based on available information.

Also, in RL im quite sure the pilot has a zooming display of his own/can see what the gunner sees. I highly doubt its possibility though. maybe if the Pilot got a zoom button or summin.

Orangez et moi, in hte cobra today. The gunner does all the "G.U.N.N.I.N.G", I keep the hydras as backup.
Orangez took out 5 tanks, 3 APCs a couple of trucks (vans) a couple of choppers, another couple of APCs, and some AA emplacements. In 25 minutes. Why? "C.O.M.M.U.N.I.C.A.T.I.O.N", he's was the one who guided me. I fly, hence the PILOT KIT. I position the chopper for the TV missiles, and now that he can zoom the gun, I hover HE shoots.

What, do you mean seat sqitching?
Not possible, start up times apply to you when you change seats in a second even.

Erm, no mate, I would only ever fly if I was using a joystick. It's just generally suicidal to fly without one. No seat switching. Who said you will never do anything in life sitting in front of a TV all day? I did. I killed a hell alot of people and didnt even die once. And none of those annoying Barry Scott commercials came on either.. "HI IM BARRY SCOTT, YOU MIGHT REMEMBER ME FROM CILLIT BANG GRIME AND LIME! IM THE MOST ANNOYING FUCKER ON THE TELLY."
As for the joystick business, in BFV and BF2, i was a pro Helo pilot. Never got shot down. I prefered passenger ferrying rather then "Blowing shit up". I have this disease you see. When enemy are in my sights, i tend not to pull up until they dont move anymore. It kinda hurts though. Waste of taxpayers money too when they ferry a fucked up huey back to base. But alas! My joystick broke and can't be bothered to get a new one. I'd rather ride shotgun atm.
