I'd like to get people's feedback on this issue. It's a growing trend and I'm wondering how everyone feels about it.

I was wondering if anyone els was concerned about this. I mean, are the spawn times that bad?

It's the vanilla kids who can't wait 30 seconds. Their ADHD goes into overdrive when they play video games. I personally don't like them. They are full of noobs and idiots and turns into a vanilla fag fest. I don't think they should be gotten rid of, they keep these kids off the other servers.

I HATE THOSE SERVERS.

Seriously, not to be mean and I know they pay for their servers, but thats just destroying the purpose of this mod in my opinion.

Short spawn time servers are common and are taking away from the better servers. I look at the server list and I see all the short spawn time servers 80-100% full, while all of the other servers are 0-50% full. I do believe that people should be able to play however they want, but when it takes so many people away from other servers, it makes me feel that these short spawn time servers should be disallowed.

It really goes directly against what PR was envisioned to be...and it's really beginning to piss me off. I've been playin' since the first public build and to see these sorts of things happening to my beloved PR is a real bummer.

I don't really like and if possible I'd like to see the spawn times and most important the vehicle spawn times locked.
It would cut the player base some but I think that loss would come from the short spawn servers only and would benefit gameplay for all.

People aren't supposed to be modding the mod.
I'm hoping we get this sorted out, to stop people from taking a few large steps away from the way this mod is supposed to be played.

Lets avoid the gameyness here, and keep it real.

I think its really affecting the quality of play and the type of players PR attracts.

Also note in that list OSF has FF almost off. Meaning you can shoot your buddy in the back 5 times and he will still be fine, or you can throw a grenade DIRECTLY AT YOUR FEET AND LIVE.

I dont like this trend of watering down PR for the masses, unforunately not much we can do to stop those servers I dont think, other than complain to their admins to change the settings.

Or, create a "license" terms that states it not be altered but simply "run" on their server. It's not open source, it's freeware.

Can't we just lock certain options?

Well I'm glad to see some agree with me. I mean what's next?

"Knife/Pistol/ShortSpawn/Crosshairs/Ah F-it exactly like Vanilla SERVER"

"24/7 Street! DIFIBRULATTORS ONLY High Points Server"

(Goin' in on West Coast server right now if anyone is playin...)

Im pretty sure that fritz can take away there ABR. If someone plays PR for the first time on a short time spawn he may get the wrong message or even on a "ABR RANKED HIGH SCORE!!!"

The way the respawns get longer and longer when you die really annoys me when I keep getting tk'd.

Yeah it's outta hand. It's their server .. I get it .. but it's OUR mod.

I am pretty sure we will figure out a way to do something about this. I'd rather lose players and servers than have the mod run with 10s spawn times and the sort of player that attracts.

In the old days you couldn't get a game going because there were so few good players. Now you can't get a decent game going because there are so few good servers.

I played one without knowing what it was, and it was a noob fest. One of the least enjoyable PR experiences ive had, and id hate a newer player to jump in to one of those and have a negative experience, and assume that that server represents PR as a whole.

FF isnt as big of a deal, and OSF is a decent server IMO, but spawn times and kit ammounts are HUGE and def shouldnt be modable.

I would like to see more options.
All these options allow the mod to be set-up more realisticaly of cource.

For example, after say five deaths, the count down timer really shoots up there.

If you die more than 10 times, your waiting about a minute and change at least.

__

IMO, the best way to regulate the server is to affect the spawn timer.

The less time one wants to wait to respawn, the more likely they will play these frag fest servers.

The more time one must wait to respawn, the more likely gamey players will stay away from this server.

I hope the PR team allows a wide range of options.
This will better seperate the arcade players from those looking for more of a sim feel.

__

IMO, the spawn timer goes by real quick. I would like longer times to wait inbetween deaths.

Die less.

Say no to PR-Lite or Diet Reality.
