Hovercraft?

I am not sure what your plans are for added content but I would love to see a hovercraft in this mod, or any mod for that matter. Mounted machine guns and space for say 5 teamates?

What fun! :P

They need to allow for more people on vehicles and remove the crazy phisics when you run people over so we can have lots o' people on the LCAC

This is a damn good idea, wish I'd thought of it. I'm sure I've seen huge hovercraft on TV that can land armoured vehicles - can't remember which country uses them, though. Anybody any ideas?

It would be cool to have a full amphibious assault level, where a hovercraft is used to take APCs which in turn are full of men up the beaches!

Well hovercraft are allready programmed in to the BF2 engine, you just need a model. There guidelines for modeling also allow the most triangles for hovercraft (probably because you gotta model the skirt too)

You could even have a smaller type hovercraft that fits 2-3 people like a jeep. This would be very fun for a maps with lots of water and wetlands.

Make them fast, but also make them hard to control, eg. use the basic pricinpals of physics and have them slide around corners etc, and go light on the armor so a rocket can take them out easily just like a jeep.

If I had any modeling skills whatsoever, I would attempt a model. But as it stands, if I were to attempt to model it would most likely turn out like a 5 year olds crayon drawing

There used to be in Vietnam, the PACV (Patrol Air Cushion Vehicle). Nowadays, I'm not sure. I once saw a small, military hovercraft in the York River, but given that location, I can't be sure if it was a Vietnam era one heading for a display or something that was from Yorktown NWS or even (dunh-dunh-dunh!) Camp Peary.

i went to the air and sea show in jacksonville one year and they had the LCAC (el-kak, :-) ) which can carry 12 hummers, 4 apcs, or 2 tanks (at least one, not sure) and a bunch of people. The US army uses them, possibly Korean but if US uses them UK does and Isreal will soon. The original BF2 had the LCAC in it but got taken out at the last minute, probably will be in the X-pack.
Great pics here: (scroll down for the real pics, not models) https://www.quicktechhobby.com/Hovercra ... RCRAFT.htm

LCACs belong to the US Navy. And the UK has had hovercraft in service for years. Here is a photo of their LCAC-Light.
