I searched around to see if anyone mentioned this before but since the search engine omits the word 'bug' it wasn't to easy.

anyway, here goes.

I am about 80% sure that the Squad Bug, or at least one type of it is cause by checking the box that says 'Auto Ready on', on the screen you get when the map has finished loading. I think that this means that you join the first squad on the server, and in some cases this bugs the squad.

If anyone doesn't know what the squad bug is, it is a bug where you are in a squad but you cannot use VOIP to contact the rest of your squad, and I think you can't spawn on your SL. Also you cannot leave the squad and many more people may join the squad than is possible (say 8/6).

Correct me if I have any of this wrong but I never got the squad bug once, until one day I checked that box to see what it did. I then got three in the same day.

I've had this bug happen to me before without the Auto Ready checked. A couple of days ago this all of a sudden happened to a bunch of people on DevFile 24/7 Al Basrah just after the teams switched sides for the next match. Not only were a bunch of people unable to leave or join the squads but some of the insurgents were unable to spawn on anything other than the main cp or their squad leader. Reconnecting to the server usually fixed it though.

This is not the more infamous squad bug, where only 2 squads can be created on one side and nobody can make anymore, custom or not. That bug sucks a big one.

And I dont think the Auto Ready box has anything to do with any squad bug, it was just coincidence that bug happened then.

prety sure its bf2cc (admin app) related problem and it may or may not have to do with autoswitching the teams after each round.

Yeah I think this is a BF2 CC issue.

the only one i have is that voip doesnt work, sometimes for everybody, sometimes just for me.... and i dont know why, but when it does happen, i realize how much it sucks to play without voip.....

funny thing is, I automatically joined a squad at the beginning of the second round, I didn't select to join it or anything, and then it all stemmed from there.....

Pretty sure you only need to restart map (?)

it was thought to be BF2CC related by the BF2CC guys, but it acturly apears from what frtiz has told me to be a problem with BF2, and it was broken in a BF2 patch, like many other things....

This is what I usually hear referred to as the "squad bug", and from what I have heard and have experienced first-hand, it seems to be related to having the option checked in BF2CC to switch teams at the end of a round.

I haven't experienced the bug referred to in this thread, but I do have the auto-ready option checked.
