A rifle or at least a sidearm back because i can't stand the SMG in the game. I have just begun to play as Anti-tank and love it except for that SMG. I'm sure this has already been mentioned

I agree, that SMG is close to worthless.

yea the MP5 in BF2 is even pretty potent, Id rather have a choice to throw my SMG at the enemy, when playing as the MEC and PLA, probably do more damage.

Ahhh, thats why I praise hail PRMM. :)

It may just take some getting used to I did pick a guy off from about 75 meters maybe with one shot to the head. I was pretty proud of myself but other than that no good experiences.

Maybe I'm so used to the crappy default SMG's that I don't have much of a problem with PRMM versions. Especially the Bizon, that thing on single shot can be pretty dangerous.

for the most part, when im playing PR, 99% of time im using single shot fire mode, it makes it 20x easier to knock out enemies at any distance, I've scored kills at over 100 yds with the SMG's, as long as they are used right, your good to go.

Well what do the guys who carry the anti-tank stuff in the real infantry get as a weapon?

All guns are dead on acurate in single fire mode, use burst and auto when your within 50m, but if your further then that, single fire is the way to go

That depends on the nation-state, branch of service and table of organization and equipment for the unit. Actual practice might vary. The weight of a service rifle and its basic load of ammunition plus a reusable launcher and a round or two is pretty heavy (especially when combined with everything else a soldier must carry for himself and his unit). Anti-armor gunners (and machinegunners, for that matter) usually operate in two-man teams, at a minimum; one gunner and and assistant gunner.

For USMC, the TO&E says that the gunner of a Javelin or SMAW team carries the launcher, 1-2 rounds and a sidearm. The assistant gunner(s) carries additional rounds and a rifle.

Soviet-Bloc Motor Rifle TO&E has the squad/section RPG-gunner with only a sidearm, too.

Army TO&E varies by unit type. "Full-time" Anti-Armor Specialists (as found in Light Infantry company anti-armor sections and Airborne/Air Assault Infantry platoon weapons squads) who carry the Javelin CLU all the time may not have rifles, relying solely on their A-gunners, ammunition bearers and any security element to which they are attached. It may be different in the Ranger Regiment, as they also have the M3 RAAWS as an option, and it is lighter than the Javelin. Plus, the Rangers seem to draw in some pretty big dudes.

In Mech (Bradley) and BCT (Stryker) infantry squads, where the Anti-Armor Specialist is a rifleman in the squad who may sometimes carry the Javelin depending on mission factors, he has a carbine and/or the launcher while other squad members carry rounds and provide security. When not carrying the Javelin, he carries a rifle/carbine and is the designated carrier/gunner for the M136 (AT-4).

I have seen photos of soldiers carrying the Javelin or SMAW and a rifle, but the AT weapon was disassembled in carrying configuration and slung. The Javelin CLU was in a bag.
