I actually have the same RAM as you (G.Skill, 2GB) but I was running WinVista w/ Reality mod in Al Basrah! My system totally collided there.
On the other note, what map were you running?

Sanity check? Doesn't seem sane? Thats the funniest error I have ever read. Too bad it seems to be the opposite for you.

Try this program it might fix it for you
http://www.fix-pc-errors.com/dll-files.asp?file=memory.dll
It's got a Limited time offer but you should only have to use it once.

If I'm not mistaken, you're running Daemon Tools. If you're running BF2 from a virtual drive, the problem might be related to BF2 anti-piracy checks and detecting the virtual drive setup, etc.
Try running it directly from the CD/DVD etc... not through a virtual drive.

Well, they shouldn't, but computers (particulary Windows O.S.) doesn't quite follow that logic every time..

Usually memory errors deal with having low Ram. When you're running P.R., the only background programs you should be running is ventrilo/teamspeak or xfire. Also, if you have problems with your RAM, you can defrag it using this program:
http://www.download.com/RAM-Def/3000-20 ... ag=lst-0-2
It is free and fixes most memory errors.

Those types of errors are not related to not having enough RAM. When there's low RAM, resources are sent to a Page File in the HDD. As for defragging RAM, it may be easier (and reliable) if you just restart your PC.

I fixed this by:
Removing every trace of bf2142 from my machine.
installing all available hotfixes for windows (I am on my work machine now but will post their exact numbers when I am home)
downloading the update.
THEN installing bf2142 and applying the patch without trying to run bf2142
initially then the game would only run if my desktop rez was 800x600@60hertz,
but atleast it allowed me into the game.
no idea about the game only starting when my desktop is in 800x600, although I retried last night in my native desktop rez and it worked... so I guess it takes a few tries to sort out its profiles.
I also changed the size of my memory page file.
This was taken from a totalbf2 forum post.
I solved this by changing my page file size, I set it to custom with min 2048 and max 4096.

Just closed the game and re-launched. Never had it again. I don't think any crazy uninstall, re-install, hot fix, or any craziness like that is necessary.
Anyways, post any other stuff you try out and what your results are.

I reinstalled the os and updated my bios on my asus a8n32 to the newest version.
Now I have no problems running PR. I still use Deamon tools running the mini backup image. Haven't crashed in a while. I don't get that sanity check anymore either.
Thanks everybody,
