Sometimes you just want to swap to a regular kit. Can it be made possible that regular kits are also requestable?

WTF! you start with a regular kit.

I understand what you mean. If you spawn as a medic or engineer or something. Then you want to change your kit for whatever reason, not needed for the mission, too many in a squad, out of the specialties for that kit (mines c4 etc). Yea, it would be nice to have an unlimited rifleman kit request.

dude its all about judgement, U ONLY CHOOSE THE KIT IF U THINK U CAN USE IT TO A GREATER EFFECT THAN THE DEFAULT KITS!
anyway if i was lucky enought to get a special kit i would hold on to it for as long as possible

I think he means that, say you spawn engineer to mine a birdge, but that bridge gets blown up, he wants to be able to go and get another kit, such as rifleman or grenadier.

I don't see why not. As long as it's possible, which I'm pretty sure it is.

I say, just make it a rifleman kit, and it should be unlimited, with no wait time.

No, this is a really bad idea.
there are plenty of ways you can take advantage of this in a bad way.

i think that in general, PR is trying to move away from this logic. Thus, i dont see why they would add this in. We need more squads equipping themselves for a game and planning ahead; i.e. dont just spawn engie just to blow up a bridge, outfit your squad approprietly so that everyone can have their own kit role that they keep for the same match.

He's right... That's why the devs are limiting the light AT kits *hint, hint*

yeah I as well disagree with this idea. If you cant use your kit anymore :
1. You did your job!
2. Oops I pick the wrong kit....DIE lol

Very good idea. People spawn into squads all the time with the wrong kit, even when explicit instructions are given. I think half the time it's intentional. I can't count the number guys who have spawned in and went "oops. Sorry man, I meant to get riflman. Oh well, might as well get the sniper rifle..."
And then I have to kick them from the squad. But they've already go their sniper rifle, so they're happy. ********.

I think this idea is completely unessecary.
I think it will lead to people going spec ops, requesting Heavy AT from main, sending rounds off at the enemy of their choice and then requesting. Some crazy form of Super-uber Soldier.
"Hi, im Crpl. Stevens. I am the unit's medical officer in the Delta force. I provide medical assistance in many areas to my squad and also am trained to set up field operation medical stations, where I will set up a temporaty hospital open to the population. I also gather data based on my medical findings. I speak mandarin and persian farsi...... Also, i randomly know how to effectively operate and operate Heavy anti-tank ordinace; Light and heavy support weapons; a range of UGLs; rifles and carbines and I have a marksman badge for rifles and sidearms......And at the end of teh_day, if i feel leik PWNzing some more, i can go back to base and press a couple of buttons and operate a chopper or armour peice.
I dont really have any hobbies or skills and am thinking of taking up wieghtboarding

in the summer."
I think human beings spawning from a pile of rucksacks is far more feasible.

well guys, what yall are talking about exploiting... you can already do that. i can be a medic, go request an AT kit from a nearby rally point, shoot a tank, then go back to medic (by picking up the kit i just dropped). i can already do that.
this is a really good idea. because of the 3 min time period, people cant just spam switch anyway. you might as well let them free up the kits if they dont want them. so if i go medic, and my team needs a heavy AT kit because theres a tank terrorizing them, i can pick one up and go to town. after i kill the tank, someone across the map might need tank support. all i have to do is go get a different kit and he can have his AT kit. that way i can be of use after i use the AT kit.

Oh, and how ould you suggest we make these options available to request? I have a feeling the drop down bar of the Coma Rose is full atm. Thats another 7 to fit in

Here is why this is a crappy idea: Request H-AT at apc/supply drop/homebase get to your squads rally point, realise there is no one who is willing to supply you, request a rifleman kit from the rally point and in an instant you got a one man army with infinite ammo for H-AT aswell as grenades m16 etc etc etc. As long as he keeps switichng between the two kits they will stay. It will be exploited!

Maybe just make a new kit that is only an M-16 (or M-4, depending on the map), a couple of smokes + nades and a kinife.

I've needed the usage of this myself, but even so think it's a bad idea and would increase the arcade factor.
