I double click the icon, the splash screen with the tank on karkand pops up. Screen goes black, and then im back to desktop! I have restart but that didnt fix it! Any ideas?

PS: This is related to PR as its Project Reality doing this ;)

No idea.. What if you load vanilla and then active the PR-mod in the "communities" tab? Or does that have the same effect?

If nothing helps, you can always try to re-install BF2, BF2 patch and PR? Would take a while, but... I don't know :o .

And if that one doesn't help.. perhaps there's a problem in your settings or something? Try renaming your battlefield-folder in My Documents (BF2 will automatically create a new one, with the default settings and all)

Good luck, dude.

But what's that about then? You've been playing PR for a while now, right?

Anyhow, I suggest you reinstall the game, which will probably fix it (make sure to backup your settings, if you have customized them, just in case).

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. That’s how I ended up with stupid Vista Ulitmate  . I would click on the PR icon and the regular screen with the picture of the M1A2 Abrams and a "Battlefield 2" written over it would appear in black. Then the game would look like its lunching, then BOOM!! Crash to desktop. I had to format and then did the next stupid thing by installing Vista 64bit. Now the game works, but because of Vista I get horrible FPS.

Were you messing with some settings? I had this happen to me before but I was changing settings in the video.con file found in \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\ on your computer.

Yes, try to remove your settings-files (don't delete them!), see if that does the trick. Perhaps one or more of those files are corrupt or something.. (though it's just plain text, so not much can go wrong there, but never hurts to try :) ).

If it doesn't help, rename your "battlefield"-folder in My Documents, see if that changes things. Let us know what the results are, perhaps we can help others with this too.

I remember before the format I did that and it didn't work. It just makes another "My Douments/Battlefield 2" folder and the same thing happens.
