There are way too many noob tubers

playing on pr yesterday was terrible, it was like every other death would be because some vanilla tard runs up to you flops to the ground and bam noob tubed.

is there any way to ad a 1 sec delay or something to the granade launcher atachment?

also happens way too much with light anti tank now, i can understand insurgents doing it because that would happen irl. But soldier who use £24,000 one shot light at weapons to take out one person on foot 10m away is rediculous.

We're making changes to the Grenadier and Light AT to address this in v0.6.

A lot of "smacktardness" has crept into PR lately. For me personally v0.5 is my least enjoyed version of PR (except for v0.1). Too many short spawn and modded servers are ruining the dynamics of the mod, so we're also going to make some changes there as well.

I like the idea of making the grenade launcher part of the officer's kit. That way you'll have one in a squad, which seems logical to me. It also wont be a front line ramboer, since the squad leader should stay back a little ways, since he is vital to the survival of the squad.

Meh, I like having a grenadier class by itself. I've seen a few BS kills with the 203 myself, but in general, it's used properly by the squads I've been in and is very effective when it is. Just don't punish the masses because of some nilla turds.

Hey Egg, heads up, your mod is still the best mod ever imo.
Never played a mod that long and had that much fun, so you can`t be doing bullshit.
Fuck those low-spawn-time servers, just hardcode the stuff and screw them all :D

I say keep the n00b tube as a kit the way it is but change the firing dynamics of the frag. The ability to quickly pop smoke at a distance is great for crossing large open areas under some form of visual cover i.e. the runway on airfield, fire them all the way over and some in the middle and a squad can get over without too many drama's, three tubes is ideal for this.

Have a 2-3 second delay on the frag and lower the number issued, give them more smoke.

Are we going to have a whine-thread about the grenadier every day now?

One question - if you set up your squad to wall-to-wall bombard a hotzone or a flagzone like its mortar - is that considered as noobtube nilla attitude?

y not just make the n00b tube a limited kit?

Why not make every kit limited? A whole squad of medics isn't realistic too.

No. That is considered awesome coordination and excellent teamwork.

The grenade launcher should not be a limited kit because it is a common role on the real-life battlefield. If steps are made to prevent it from being a reaction weapon by adding even a second of delay it will be able to fulfill its true role, that being engaging light vehicles and attacking enemy positions at range.

Yea, but you have plenty of people who will misuse it. The M4 was probably at its most realistic in 0.4, but we all know it imbalanced the game. And having the SL have it would be just fine. It is not realistic to have a whole squad full of them.

I love doing that, except I have the accuracy of a stormtrooper.

£24,000 goverment money or your life ? I'd choose my life ...
Using light AT's against campers in the buldings and so on is very common in nowadays conflicts all over the world

This is true with the latest version of the Saab Bofors Dynamics AT4 CS (Confined Space) and the HEDP (High Explosive Dual Purpose) rocket.

I'm not sure what people mean by "n00btubers" or whatever, but I have a feeling that whenever these people get hit by a m203, they assume it MUST HAVE BEEN ANOTHER NOOB.

It already has a mini-delay on it, so it'll bounce of walls and stuff right up close. You can't nail people with it close-quarters and it's accuracy is poor unless you aim for a moment. You also can't throw it over walls or around corners like a standard grenade. So that means every time you've been "PWNED BY A NOOBTUBE", it's because you were in a direct line of fire. What's so noobish about someone killing you that way? Perhaps you're the noob for dying this way on a regular basis.

When someone randomly pops out of cover 5 feet away and noobtubes you, then that is "noob tubing."

If someone is 50 meters away and arches it and places one well round killing you, that is using the grenade launcher.

Right now it is way too easy to just use the GL up close and it isn't fair at all and no matter what anyone says, that is a vanilla tactic. We came to this game to get away from those tactics as well and actually have some well thoughtout fire fights.

Sure, the insurgents are not meant to be in prolonged fire fights, but if they solely use rockets or grenade launchers, this game becomes Quake.
