So I made the mistake of giving vanilla a go again last night...

Join a squad - voip: "Hi Guys". There's no answer. The silence is unsettling.
Right. Fine.

Spawn. Get bombed. Spawn again 10 seconds later ("what? I'm back already?") Arty'ed. ohhhh-kayyy. Spawn again. Oo! Alive for 10 seconds! Right someone needs a medic. Zap. They run away while I'm holding out my medpack. Oh right.

So this is where my PR training is my downfall. I crouch and sneakily make my way to the enemy. Dead. WTF? Ohhh! There's a UAV do-dah flying over me. So spawn..and crouch again, as this is now habit. Dead again. GAH! Then it dawned on me. No one used crouch in Nilla. They just run! and bunnyhop.
So I spawn AT and run around like a madman, avoiding fire and spot a sniper in the tower who's ducking up and down. So I get out my trusty SRAW and guide a rocket his way, it connected on the lip of the wall he's hiding behind. He's still alive?! SNIPE! Dead. Urk.

Disconnect. vBF2 bites donkey balls.

Moral of the story: Don't use PR tactics in vBf2. And PR Rules.

It's fun to bother people in Vanilla... in fact, I think I may do that right now.

Heheh.. the UAV doesn't allow sneaky sneaky. That was the one major thing that turned me away from vBF2.

A few nights ago when it was real late and there wasn't really a populated PR server, I decided to play vBF2 after about a 3 or 4 month hiatus. All I did was put C4 on cars and drive it into whatever enemy I could find, then I would type "ALLAH AKBAR" in chat. Oh so satisfying.

It's been over 6 months now. I think I may give it a shot.

I like to go back to vanilla once in a while, so I can go crazy with the sniper rifles again.

yeah sometimes i feel like an idiot having to put the vehicles to full stop before getting out.

Since the first day I tried PR, I can't go back to BF2. I just can't. I idled once on my friend's server to help populate it and thats the closest thing since.

PR is just too amazing. BF2 is just too craptastic.

Vanilla can suck my balls.

Im never going back.

Pardon? Do you mean you've seen a lot at these sorts of posts (justly) bagging vBf2? Or do you see a lot of guys acting like they're playing PR in vBF2?

If the former - sorry for preaching to the converted and repeating the same ol' thing, but I've only been playing PR for a short while now and am a bit amazed how quickly the habits are forming.

Before i used to play PR i thought vannilla was decent, but when i went back i started noticing every time i killed anyone they would be rezzed in like 2 seconds! 90% of each team is medics just rez spamming and throwing down FULL INSTANT HEAL medic packs So i pick up the assault and everytime i kill someone i just hang around till the 1 or 2 medics belly flop on to them, then BAM 100% accuracy noob tube... OK this is easy..
And due to playing PR im fighting at max engagement range on flank or defensive posistion most the time, and because all the nilla guys are all running everywhere without cover its like shooting down crappy AI bots cause the only thing there looking at is who next to rez spam, and the closest flag to throw nades at.
Also actually using cover in nilla is like a wall hack or something especially when rearly close to a flag/spawn as the enemy never look behind / check cover they just beeline to the next flag / corpse while you mow them down

PR habits work wonders in nilla when used right compared to the usual style nilla gameplay, K ratio goes through the roof. But its only fun for like 1/2 an hour a week till the lameness of it all bores you to start trying to win every round with a shotty or pistol, or pretend your insurgeant with IED/C4 owning

Yeah. My aim is godlike when going back to vanilla. Using single fire on assault rifle when above 50m? Silly me
But that and c4-cars isnt enough. Ill rather try to help start up another prm server instead.

Some of my friends play vBF2. Getting frenzy cause they do not want/need to play PR, those guys are swedish and norwegians. But I found new PR friends so that´s ok!

The best of PR? The community (though newbies just from vBF2..) imo.

Yeah true... when you flank in vBF2 you totally rape people. It's just a tactic that is never used in vBF2...

I play both... mainly because my clanmates refuse to play PR .
Vanilla is all about moving ... your accuracy may not be perfect , but if you are moving right you get >3 kdr .. PR is different , you should use your brain a lot to get decend ratios .

On the reverse side of the topic, I crack up at myself as I single-shot to death a guy bunny-hopping away from me. I think "even if you get away you're definitely bleeding to death after those 3 rounds went into your torso.. say hello to your guts for me"

On the other hand, I got owned this morning by a guy who was 5 feet in front of me. I was unloading an ENTIRE clip of a Chinese support gun into him and he didn't die. He hopped away, hopped again, grenade tubed me to the face and then ran away.

I screamed VAAAANIILLAAAAAAA into the chat and everyone sympathized with me.
