It should be able to run everything on high. I have a 7900gt and it runs everything on high with no real stuttering and I think the 1650 and 7900gt are comparable to each other. Ill get a bit of stuttering when I play al-basrah but it goes away after the first couple of minutes in server.

The only thing I have set to less than "high" is my res, its at 1280*1024.

Also, Id check out newegg instead of bestbuy, you can probably get a much better deal.

I got a 7800GTX 256MB and 2 GB RAM and run PR on 1280x1024 with everything on High and 8xAA perfectly fine.

I think that's due to hard drive though - mine also stutters on Basrah at first but it's always hitting the hard drive during that time. I have a 2 disk raid setup for speed and it does still get pretty chunky. I don't think that is a graphics card related chokepoint.

Def go NewEgg. This is my latest build in November and it was just under $1k:

Intel Core2Duo Processor E6400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115004
$220.00

Intel BOXDG965RYCK Socket T (LGA 775) Intel G965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813121048

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145590
$280.00

eVGA 256-P2-N584-AR Geforce 7900GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130033
$275.99

I run everything at 1400x900 max'd out. Originally upgraded for 2142 but since PRs latest releases, I've obviously scrapped that game completely.

do not buy that card for 200 bucks, you can get something faster for 100 online. 80 dollar 6600gt 128mb is about the same speed.

your card is about 3x as fast as that 512mb x1650, the memory doesn't mean that much, the 79x chip is much better. 7900gt 64mb would be way faster than the x1650 512mb.

yeah. 64MB. DON'T BUY :D .

my recomendation... much faster than a X1650Pro

Keep in mind not only total amount of memory counts, but the speed of the memory, too. The memory on the x1650 is much slower than that of the mentioned GeForce cards.

I got a Nvidia 7800 GS AGP card. Works just fine. It was the best at the time. I know that this has taken over as the AGP card since then, but seriously, BF2 does not throw much demands on to these cards anyway so...... buy it by all means, if you're only gonna use it for BF2 and you got a nice card already, fugget about it. I can run Oblivion with max settings with this card already.

dont listen to any body ells, they dont matter because i have that exact same card.

i have 2 gigs of ram and that card and i can run everything on high on every level. at 1280x1024. the only time it gets abit gross is on the mondo version of Al Basarah, and even then the grossness goes away after 5 min or so.

i have every video/audio setting on bf2 maxed out.

get it off the internet though, i got mine for like $110

o ya, for BF2 anti aliasing only goes up to 6X for that card, which is enough.

i might have to say dont get it and get a nvidia of some sort just because ATIs website and customer service has turned to absolute SHIT sense AMD bought them out. shitty *** AMD fucked ATI over and made them all look like nobs. i got the card over the internet from amazon or something and when it got hear it didnt work and the box was flat like it fell of the back of the truck and then got ran over. when i put it in the fan would spin but it didnt give a display, so i called ATI and instead of having a automated person talk to you about some shit and then play gross quality saxophone music IT JUST GAVE ME A BUSY SIGNAL. i called like 3-4 times before i finally got a automated person, then i had to wait fo eva for a real person and then the real person pretty much just told me to take it out and put it back in securely, which was not the fucking problem and they knew it. then they told me to call amazon and fix it with them so i did and amazon was obviously not bought by AMD because amazon wasnt abunch of ****** bags and they just sent me a new one the next day. so in the end AMD sucks and fucked ATI over in the costumer service area. good video cards though.

Will when I had XP Prof installed my X1600 512MB gave me 60+ FPS (on Al Basrah) with graphics all on high, view distance 100%, and AA on x6. Unfortunitly after Windows Vista it could only handle all graphics on high except textures had to be lowered down to medium, view distance 100%, and AA on x6 (not that the game wouldn't run with high textures, but I wouldn't get that 60+FPS). But if your using XP I'm gussing you can do a hell of a lot better with that X1650 than I ever did on my crapy X1600.

How did you get it too all high? I have x1600 512 mb too but I cant seem to play on high :-( . The highest settings I could go is on medium with just one high and 2X aa...
