To begin, I would like to compliment you on what is undoubtedly the best mod for BF2....I have logged many sleepless nights on this great program.
As a Marine who served in Iraqi Freedom with a Truck Platoon (if you can't truck it, fuck it!), I would HIGHLY recommend including the Mk-19 weapons system as a HMMWV vehicle mounted weapon.
The Mk-19 is currently widely fielded by the Marines and the Army, and is an unmatched support and/or assault weapon.
For info, check the following links:

Hope you all take this into consideration and add it to the game!

This sounds like a pretty good weapon for securing supply lines, if it were portable.

we talked about this, but we think it would bring a whole new meaning to the word "noob tube" if we made it

I remember long ago talk that it was coming to PR.
I would welcome them to be used as stationary defenses or vehicle-mounted.
I do agree that portable automatic gl is not a good thing atm.

What about a CROWS .50 Cal?
I think CROWS is like "Commonly Remote Operated Weapons System"

See this is the point at which you have to decide to go with reality or stop people from "Noob Tubing". Best choice is to go with anti-"noob tubing". Otherwise you'll just get more complaints about it and probably end up taking it out.

I fail to see how one could call this noob tubing.
First of all it's not going anywhere so it cannot strafe you and fire at you.
Secondly it cannot shoot at the ground 1m right in front of it.
For defensive purposes I think it's fair game. It would need a limited supply of ammo just like the other stationary weapons.
A mapper could really use them[read nerf] anyway they choose by adding sandbags or whatever to limit the field of view.
Stationary tow isn't highly abused. I don't see how this is much different.
The man using it is still very vulnerable.

Yeah, well. I agree with you that this would be a fine thing, but if it's mounted on a humvee, people will try to man it and shoot at everything that moves, just because the rain of grenades, smoke, fire 'n explosives look cool

.
Probably a heck of a lot tk's when it's implemented. You can say that that is the responsibility of the players, but personally, I don't want to get tk-ed for the 10th time by those things.
Stationary... that I might like. But, if you look at Delta Force 3 (only played that one), it will rain grenades all over again...

Will the Mk-19 is pretty heavy and bulky, so why not make it slower to maneuver on the HMMWV turret? Also the kickback on that thing is pretty crazy, so it should be less accurate too. Put these features together and you get a hard to control weapon and little less noobtubing.

You could just have it as a stationary emplacement like the .50 and tows mappers can place. No reason to make it portable or mount it to vehicles.

If everyone would please direct your mouse cursors to the top right of the web browser you will notice a link called "Search" with a drop down forums search tab. Thank you, and USE THE FRICKIN THING.
This has been suggested many times and even by me personally, the only problem is balancing it.

you guy are VERY angry agains any type of granades , arent you? . this isnt a "noobtubed" , how can you call it noobtube? you cant jump in a hummve , you cant instaprone in a hummve . hummve are very easy to see and very easy to destroy, the mk19 would be only for support.

You want to put one of these on a humvee?

Sure, Knock yourself out!
Anyway, back on topic, the Mk.19 could be introduced for the US side in a balanced and realistic manner. You just have to give the other sides something to balance it (not a direct equivelent, but something [or somethings] that are just as good) for example, the balance for the PLA could be QLZ-87 automatic grenade laucher in both viechle/strong point mounted form and as a pick up kit. The MEC and UK could get something completly different, just as long as it gives them an advantage that the US dont have (as the US have an advantage they dont have). Asymetric balance is a wonderful thing when pulled off properly.
Also. Use the search function. This has been discussed before. Many, many times.
