Anyone know of any tactical gaming communities which aren't run by a bunch of evangelicals that play PR? A community other than Tactical Gamer.

No idea, but they are a lovely bunch of players. I just wish my ping was better so I could play there more often.

I don't get peoples problem with TG. Can someone explain? It is the only server i have found that is living out to PR values and trying to push them.

Well, I got banned for language without warning -- something those preachy religious right people like to do (lead admin is from South Carolina). What really pisses me off is that I was a regular and lead many team-oriented support squads up until the ban.

Anyways, the quality of play on that TG server has become relatively mediocre compared to that of other PR servers I have tried. It seems like they are more concerned with padding their paid-membership counts than filtering out those sloppy players. They have a large established community, but beyond that, they have too many players that can't tell their asses from their faces. Now I can't say for certain if there are any better servers out there, but I am still disapointed.

I am a firm believer that the only way you will get teamplay is by filtering. You can try and force the teamwork mechanics on the players, and they will still find a way to avoid working as a team.

Helix people are probaly the best, but they dont speak Top Cat language, therefore the next best group of players for me, are TG.

I have to admit, some lack a sence of humour, but i generaly feel i can make even the most miserable of TG players laugh, although, some i must sadily admit are past help!!!!!!!!! jkes

Problems with other clans, refuse to name any, are that they are just not willing to try even some of the most basic tactics past joining a squad and issuing orders.

Things like fireteams and pointmen, are arnt given enough thought and in some cases are totaly neglected - this means, i am not interested in the slightest.

p.s "evangelicals" - where did you get that idea???????????????

I've always found admins to take control of the idiots too. I've reported intentional tking multiple times and either see an admin warning or a kick within a minute or less. I am not a supporting member or anything but i feel the play is high quality. And PW nights are great.

All apologies, but once again this is a case of a banned player suddenly deciding that "TG Sux" (after he's been banned, of course). Not sure why people open threads to flame a server they frequented, acted up on, then were banned from, but they do.

Just to clear up some (more) misinformation contained in Malv's post -
1) Our "lead admin" is not from South Carolina
2) TG is not religious/evangelical, though I personally worship at the altar/buffet of the Flying Spaghetti Monster ;)
3) Several TG admins have a great sense of humor, just not when it comes to keeping the server in top form
4) We're not interested in "padding our paid membership accounts". All TG members (including admins) pay those fees. We don't get a commission or anything like that.
5) The players that play by the rules, work as a team and improve the quality of play on the server, unlike those that find themselves banned and flaming in external forums, can in fact tell their arses from their faces
6) I do agree on filtering as a method of improving teamplay. Look at this post, see what we've filtered, and be happy you don't have to deal with this on our server ;)
