first , replace the z8 with the mi17 for the pla , only the plan use the z8 .
i thnk that transport choopers would need to be like the apc , a movil spawn point , except the blackhawk . why? because the mi17 can carry 30 passenger max , same for the merlin, but the BH is very small compared to the others , capable for only 11 passengers.
for the USMC would be cool the CH-53 to be the spawnable chooper.
also , all the transport choopers need to have 8 passenger , except the BH

(with only 7 seats , one pilot and one squad)
finaly , would be cool to have some variants of transport choopers , like a mi17 capable of "fire" one jeep to deployit on the field (Obviously, that variant would not be spawnable).

Would be pretty unbalanced if all transport choppers were spawns... There are already enough spawns on the map with rallypoints, mapper placed rally points, APC's and Squad leaders, and who knows what the future will bring. Last thing we need is an uber spawn point that can zip around the map and drop off a full squad

Even so, this guy really has a point IMO. Plus we can modify the amount/placement of rally points on maps. Personally, I find it more convincing to see troops drop out of the sky than to appear out of a rally point.

Er, and i think it would be even worse if they were parachuting

Plus it wouldnt be right to hover near some base behind cover just dropping soldier after soldier. That would at least make easy points for the first enemy to spot it.

i think that he say :"is better to see people landing from a chooper than people growning like potatos from the floor"
maybe the chooper would be "unespawnable" when is near a flag or something like that?

I'd like to see the blackhawks have ropes,
this has been shown on vbf2 grafix but has never been seen ingame,
and since normal guys in pr dont have parachutes and landing in a city is hard it would be to great advantage if you could just drop your squad on a roof with some ladders to it to get off of it, in the center of the battle,

check the left, BH
and in the good old days of bfv all I ever did was fly about in a heuy putting the music on and picking up tanks and other vehicles to deploy them on the bf so the team could use them to advance.

Jedi mushroom was simply saying that fast roping has been discussed so many times that he's surprised you haven't seen any of the threads about it. You said that because you have a life you have not seen the thread, which is implying Jedi does not have one. This is seen by me at least as an insult. End of discussion.

Yeah that would be like vBF2....

i dont see how it would be like bf2 :S
IE: a mi17/merlin/ch53 can be easily destroyed by ONE rocket , at least it would be very badly damage , so those choopers need to fly high to avoid the enemy fire (like real life) and land the people away from the line of fire , becasue those types of choopers arent designed to transport soldiers at very close distance from the firefight , those task are for balckhawks(US) or z-15(PLA).
of course , if those choopers bacomes a mobile spawn point they need to be used in large maps , becouse they operate in big theaters .

The Merlin can be used in a combat environment and I'm pretty sure it can take more than 1 RPG

yeah, but killing the crew inside the chooper . in BTW i see a chinok (wich is better armored than a merlin) destroyed by a single missil (dont know if wa a rpg or a sa7)

A 160th SOAR Chinook was forced down, but not destroyed in midair, by
multiple RPG hits during Operation Anaconda. So, they can definitely take more than one.
As for the Z8, who is to say that the PLAN marines aren't the ground force on the particular maps that it's on?

Although they aren't really armed with rockets. Thanks again, EA.
