so we only have 4 days till aprial the 1st. We have talked about an idea that egg or someone is going to ban all the Devs and post on the news about it with some reason to why the entier Dev team has been banned etc.

So what we want to do is ban all the Devs in the morning (probaly EST time zone?) and for the news post to go out some time shortly after that.

the question is what reason should we give to why all the devs, apart from like egg, fortnight etc have been banned?

or Would it be better to only ban a selection of devs? like 1/2 the dev team for like say we had a argumant on the dev forums about some issue, and we couldnt come to a dession and it all got out of hand so the ppl who didnt agree with egg etc got banned.

Now it would probaly be best to ban Devs that post on the public forums often etc, so probaly a buch of the mappers as we post alot on the pubicl forums (me, duckhunt, taxi probaly the best ones), ehhh fuzz, egor, gaz and that would probaly do, so that is ehhh, 6 devs getting banned, maybe put more in the pot? i dunno but any ways brain strom away guys!

say that there was a huge fight about realism, and alot of hte devs disagreed, so they conspired against egg, fort, etc and decided to give DCON or somebody all their top secrets...

so the top PR leads did not know who to trust, so they banned ALL devs until they can get things sorted out...

oh a huge leak would be a good reason..maybe have some story about the whole mod and its features beign leaked like what really happened before.. that would be funny...

or even better....all devs banned and not a word at all...they probably wouldnt even notice....

Specify if you would not like to be banned, otherwise for those taking part I figure a good period of time to take would be a ban of 24-hours...? Up to you guys whether we want to post in the community that we were banned or not, but I don't think it warrants a main page post per se, unless someone wants to whip one up.

EDIT: Another idea I just had is to post in the R-PUB/R-CON sections (including Mods) that we are doing some server changes to the vBulletin, and that we need to ban them for 24hrs in order for it to take effect, so the rest of the pubbies that sign on will only see other pubbies and none of us?

Ban all the devs, let people try and work it out, then later make a "sad" thread about the devs/fast roping/the future of the mod.


Oh yeah, ban everyone for 28 hrs or so.

EDIT: Perhaps some people should post about fast ropes the day before? In a serious manner, though.

Im not really sure about banning all the devs, will kinda make things slow down a bit. I'm all for making a news release about the fastroping etc etc. just, banning all the devs could lead to some pretty substantial problems. tad risky....

Something like a new feature list for 0.6:
Realistic paperwork
Combat knives must be wiped from moist that collects on it after being held out for long periods of time.
New rifle cleaning mode, where you have a point and click gamemode of stripping, cleaning and assembling your rifle against the enemy.

Etc Etc.

Nah, we'd be fine with the forum bans... we still have MSN and things to communicate. If you really need your account, you can be one of the few that take over.

I think you should take it to the limit & mock up a Ministry of Defence document that outlines legal action against the PR team due to classified reference material being supplied to the devs (eg. ukforce & the armor reticules). Gaz/ukforce/egg could be detained for questioning as part of the ongoing war on terror, & all other devs have had their homes raided & computers confiscated by local law-enforcement agencies. The mod will thus be ended, just at the point that we discovered how to implement fast-roping.
