Is it possible to give the AP class the ability to put tripwires on the claymores, so they have the option of remote detionation, or taking the time setting up the trip wire.

Sorry to be a search whore but this has been requested a few times already. That is probably why you are not getting any responses.

after you place a clay in game you have to switch to another weapon and then switch back before you can detonate it. otherwise you get a "click" but no boom

I would use them much more if I could detonate them quickly after setting them. Not instant but many times I will throw it down when an enemy is about to round a corner, and I don't have time to cycle back through and then wip out detonator before I am "critically wounded."

Heres the low down on Claymores.
Trip wires cannot be implemented because of (supprise, supprise) engine limitations.

All claymores explode when you push the button on the clacker. However, each indevidual claymore has a 3second arming time. If you try and blow the claymore before those three seconds, you see the button pushed but the claymore will not explode and will just sit there, unaffectable until 10mins after you die.

im affraid the AP rifleman/claymore suggestions have been kicked about already. Search tool is there for a reason....Tell me you look both ways when you cross the street?
