I've looked into this weapon alot, and have thought of it for PR, but the DSR-1 is a German weapon made by AMP, and is for Police Forces, such as the GSG9, the DSR-1 to my knowledge has no immediate links to the Military, so it wouldnt be extremly realistic to adopt the DSR-1 for use in the military for PR.

True, the rifle itself has not yet been adopted by any armed forces yet... in general the 338 Lapua Magnum cartridge is more of a law enforcement / counter-terrorist cartridge as the militaries of the world are still evenly divided in 7.62x51mm NATO and 7.62x54mm Soviet camps.

im sure eddie or TR can back me up the Cheytac is by far the hawtest snipers rifle on the planet

The 408 Cheyenne Tac... yeah that is a smoking cartridge...

From the manufacturers own website with regards to MOA results:

Recent testing in Arco, Idaho revealed the cartridge gave subMOA groups out to 2300 yards (See Ordnance Section). Beyond this distance, the Leupold Mark 4, 16X rifle scope could not provide enough horizontal (windage) to accommodate the gusty winds.

408 Cheyenne TacticalÂ® Cartridge. This purpose of this 3000-plus yard (transonic between 3300 and 3400 yards) cartridge is to deliver accurate (sub MOA), to a target from a sniper platform. In a different configuration, it is intended to replace the 7.62mm NATO cartridge, which is currently being used for the military's General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG). The mission for the sniper round is to selectively hit enemy targets located at great distances while at the same time, the sniper using the .408 CheyTacÂ® is immune to counter snipers using conventional sniper cartridges. It also has a limited anti-material role. The cartridge's advantage for a machine gun -- intermediate between the M240 (7.62mm NATO) and the M2 HB (.50 Browning) is that it provides greater kinetic energy and hitting distance over the 7.62mm NATO and the .50 Browning cartridges, but does not have the weight disadvantage of the .50 Browning cartridge. The cartridge out performs the external ballistic characteristics of the .50 Browning cartridge at 1000 yards and beyond, but fired from a platform less in weight that the M2 HB. Contrasting weight by weight, the .408 Cheyenne Tacticalâ„¢ cartridge is a third lighter, which translates into a third more cartridges per unit weight.

The parental cartridge case for the .408 Cheyenne TacticalÂ® is the .505 Gibbs, necked to .408" and with a redesign of the web area. Solid nickel copper alloy projectiles for both sniping and GPMG are being designed by Lost River High Energy Technologies (Arco, ID) using PRODAS 2000 software

With anymore accurate sniper rifles in PR, you wont need to be any other class in game. all you see are sniper wars, to about 1000 yards, people killing each other from main spawn points.

true. the bad part of the bf2 capture system is it's predictable, sort of. if you see one of the outposts goes from controlled by you to neutral you know there's an enemy there. so make the area that captures the flag larger (which has already been done in prmm i believe) and add more spawn points to each flag so spawn raping is less easy.

i wasnt aware thay i got it.... perhaps you mistook one of them for it

and i was thinking the animations would be a pain for this weapon casue the forwad mag is a secondary one, for faster reloading

Yet they aint all that accurate, because russia doesnt have a dedicated 12.7x108 sniper round, as they use the normal MG rounds. Accracy is rate at 3 MOA.. which isnt great at all for long range.
