ok i have decreased my time spend on pr, because the lag, oohhh old topic and problem (increased on my toughts on .5), so i have to ask. what are devs making about lag? we can have any hope for .6?

Lag is not so much of a game issue as it is a conenction issue..

Now the bigger the game or mod, an the more data it needs to send does create a bit lag, your connection is the main bottleneck.
I am on a 8mbit / 1mbit connection and play fine in the US from Europe.
My parents have a 3mbit/512kbit and when my brother wants to play, his ping goes skyhigh..

a 128kb upload is more than enough. there is a problem with lag on large servers but its more of server lag

Exactly, there's no such thing as too much porn.

I play on US servers (live in UK) and I dont get any lag...occasionally there might be a spike, but that only lasts for a second or so.

come on man dont complain about the lag, ,the Devs had made an amazing Mod here and you are critising them. Update your PC harware and stop complaining

High ping is usually distance.

Having a large connection means that more information can be transferred in a same amount of time. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE CONNECTION IS FASTER.

Therefore to get the lowest ping, search for a server in your country.

E.G:
I get 70ms in Spain
I get 100ms in UK.
I get 115ms in Germany.
I get 125 in Norway.
I get 280 in USA.

normaly my lag is caused by system lag , i have like 25 ping but lag... thats because i av a shit comp, depend what lag ur talking about .. dont think theres much they can do about system lag.

The main thing we are going to do about lag is load testing during an open beta period for v0.6 and then as much optomisation as we can get done.

All you need is a cable connection and a server that's near you and you will never get lag, unless people from other countries start joining that server.

I find it funny when one guy goes "WOW THIS IS LAGGY!" then ONE more guy goes "yeah, I agree" then all of a sudden the first guy thinks because someone agreed with him the whole server is laggy and then they spam chat with "OMG THIS IS SO LAGGY" When it turns out its just those couple of people

I'm not sure that the whole server get's "OMFGSUPDERDUPERLAGGARDS!!" because of high ping players.

I can't remember when, but there was some debate over this.

It's not a question about "if" the server get lag, it's "when".
