Weapon Stats

It would be excellent if the devs could post the weapon stats such as damage/recoil/deviation (official numbers and "evidence") somewhere.

P.S. if the weapon stats are already in the BF2 directory, please tell me where, I'm not exactly savvy with this stuff.

THANKS

1. All guns can kill you
2. Try not to think of how much health you have left but what you can do with that health you have left.

That is such a noob comment. Sorry had to say it.

That is such a noob comment.
why is that? Would you play better when you worry about your HP or worry about getting the objective done?

I think in real life you're gonna be more concerned about keeping yourself alive...

All bullets to head kill according to last damage test I think.

2-3 to kill from 7.62, 3-7 to kill from 5.56 depending on area hit, body armor, etc.

To give you a rough idea (please note, this excludes the ammunition used in sniper and DM rifles):

7.62x51mm - 2 shots to both armoured and unarmoured targets

7.62x39mm - 2 shots to unarmoued, 3 to armoured

5.56x45mm - 3-4 to unarmoured, 4-5 to armoured

5.8x42mm - more or less the same as 5.56

I think thats what we are trying to avoid.

Hence, all the thread's on Respawn Times, damage, Bullet Snaps, Limited kits....Etc.

I don't think you guys understood what I meant, what I meant was the damage data/recoil stuff like this:

7.62 is 1shot to unarmoured to kill, if in torso/head.

Its effectivly a 1 shot kill, as it gives them the Jimmi Hendrix effect and after about a second and a half they die of blood loss, but its not an instant kill (atleast in my experience)

I thought it was the Bob Marley effect?

Doesn't it matter what weapon is shooting it? (Not sure why it would in real life (ignoring the small barrel length differences) but in the game is seems to matter)
I don't normally get one shot kills with the m14 (7.62) but the m24 (also 7.62) does.
And of course both the Abrams and the Blackhawk also use 7.62 rounds and they seem to have their own damage levels as well eh?

The guide says 2xM134 Miniguns (which would be expected) and the m134 shoots the 7.62

A 20mm Vulcan (nothing mini about it hehe) is the gun they use for fighter jets.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M61_Vulcan
And I'd say a bit big for a helicopter (I mean just look at the size of the ammo belt)

nope, they are 7.62. The gatling guns on airplanes are usually 20mm.

edit: damn I'm slow. :D

Note my note about not including DMRs or SRs. I'm not sure on DMRs, but sniper rifles definetly do more damage than assault rifles of the same cartrage, due to the heavier sniper rounds (officially). I'm pretty sure the viechle mounted MGs do the same damage as the regular assault rifles.

Miniguns are called miniguns because they are a minature version of the 20mm vulcan cannon found in US aircraft.

I wasn't even think of the G3 that the Arabs are running around with.
That's really a 1 or 2 shot kill weapon? It doesn't seem like it (I'll have to test some more, only had the mod for about a week).... But that's why my mind went to the SR/DMR
