I thought the SAS rarely work alongside the RM/British Army.

SAS do not use Mp5 on the average type of PR map, namely open deserts and jungles.

'[R-PUB wrote:Garabaldi']The 'Special Forces' kit needs to be eliminated completely, methinks.
I would agree, but perhaps a softer approach would be to make it a limited kit.
This would then allow for some of the RL 'UBER' equipment that special forces would carry, without it being whored out as a whole.
As for fast ropes(:roll

i think he may have been refering to thegraplin hook. I think that would be put to better use under the Combat enginer kit, allowing him more role specific value.

'[R-PUB wrote:Garabaldi']fast roping is not possible with the engine
i know that its not possible (well so far) but i mean the hook thing i forgot what it was called grapple or something

i dont want to get rid of the M4 cause that is a realisticly used weapon but the Special Forces kit needs to be fixed. and just for the record there is no Marine Special Forces its Force Recon

I agree with eliminating the SF kit. It should be a limited kit with more like 4 SLAMs and a grapplin hook. I think this would cut down on the insta-gib stuff you see when fighting the USMC.
You see a USMC normal soldier with an M16, he sees you. A firefight erupts, you both have an equal chance.
You see a USMC SF Soldier with an M4, he sees you. He simply insta-prones and fires between 1-3 rounds and instantly scores a headshot, or simply sprays in your direction killing you.
So ya, limiting the SF kit would be nice.

Don't give the engineer a grappling hook, why would he have one of those? No! That my only input on that

.
The SAS wouldn't be used in any of the situations in any of the maps and as people have said they don't work with the army.
Limiting SF would be nice because it would be cool to see people actually use their abilities not just their firepower. I've never really seen anyone blow up Arty or tanks or aircraft and It be nice to see people trying. What kit would replace it in the initial selection screen though? The only thing I can think of is having the Rifleman class down twice (preferably 3 times because I reckon the anti infantry rifleman pointless

)

MSPF or whatever it is in game is actually a real Marine Spec Ops unit IIRC. Maritime Special Purpose Force or somethink of the like. *Requesting Eddie Baker at this location!*

isit true what I heard that the SAS can fly???

I know Viper, but how likely is it that large amounts of those special forces troops would be fighting along-side of the grunts? You don't see ASF or SFG (Green Beret) troops fighting with Army grunts.

IRT Duckhunt,
Is it true that there's a point on a man's head where if you shoot it, it will blow up?
IRT Soulja, yeah I know, was just pointing out to a previous post about MSPF not being Force Recon. IMO if PR did a Spec Ops map the entire side needs to be Delta/SAS/SEALs/Rangers/Green berets/Force Recon/DEVGRU/CIA Spec. Activities Division/PJs/CCT/Yeah you get the point

Force Recon are Marine Special forces. As for the special forces kit, it needs to be ousted. If there are to be special forces it has to be a whole team, not random people.
United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance (Force Recon) units are special-purposes units roughly analogous to the Navy SEALs, Air Force Air Commandos, or U.S. Army Special Forces and are widely recognized as the "special operations forces" of the United States Marine Corps. Marine Force Recon personnel, or "operators", perform highly specialized, small scale, high-risk operations, such as:
* Amphibious and deep ground surveillance.
* Assisting in specialized technical missions such as Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, Radio, sensors and beacons, etc.
* Assisting in ordnance delivery (i.e., designating targets for close air support, artillery and naval gunfire).
* Conducting direct action raids, such as gas and oil platform (GOPLATS) raids and the capture of specific personnel or sensitive materials.
* Behind Enemy Lines Assault
* Deep Reconnaissance
* Hostage/prisoner of war rescue.
* Unconventional warfare
* Foreign Internal Defense
* Counter-Terrorism
Force Reconnaissance units have been recently integrated into the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and are now part of Marine Special Operation Battalions East and West. However, United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) won't be fully integrated into SOCOM until 2010.

I know it's wikipedia and they aren't completely reliable but they are still a pretty damn good source for accurate info most of the time.

Yes, we have been aware of that for quite some time.
The current name of the class is "MSPF," which stands for Maritime Special Purpose Force. The MSPF, or just MSF (Maritime Strike Force), is an element within a Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), which includes assets from divisional and Force Recon (now Marine Special Operations Battalions), forming amphibious reconnaissance and deep-recon/direct-action platoons, and sometimes a SEAL Platoon that is attached to the MEU(SOC) or Expeditionary Strike Group. The security element for the MSF/MSPF is usually the designated air assault rifle company of the battalion landing team, who are regular Marine infantry grunts who have received more intensive training in helicopter rope suspension techniques (including fast roping) prior to their deployment with the MEU(SOC).
We included the P226 to hint that they were possibly SEALs and used the MSPF title to leave it ambiguous so the various Marine Recon, MARSOC and SEAL wannabes could pretend to be whichever they like and not bother us to make different models and skins for operators who perform almost the same job with almost the same equipment.
Likewise, the UK special operations kit is named UKSF, the unified command for UK special operations forces, so the United Kingdom SOF wannabes you can pretend that they're SAS, SBS, Special Forces Support Company or whichever other elite unit they liked (3rd Cdo Brigade Patrols Troop, Para Pathfinder Troop, etc).
