Suspect tactic on Devfile

Didn't know if I should post this or not as it is related to cheating, but I don't know if this is something that should be reported to the Devfile server admins or is it a loop-hole that is impossible to close. And, am I just being a snitch if I report this?

Here's the rundown: I was playing in a squad in Devfile the other night as Insurgent. A squad member mentions that he can get us the USMC anti-air weapon. SL is inquiring how this is possible, and the guy says "You just need a buddy on the other team to help you".

Anyway, sure enough, 5 minutes later the guy has a USMC anti-air kit and is knocking the heck out of the A-10's and Cobra's.

Is this something that server admins want to hear about? OR is it something that cannot really be enforced anyway, so no point reporting.... :-?

hmmm, thats not fair in a sense, but the USMC don't use the AA kit.

Is the USMC one more effective? I have never really tryed it :P It could be considered a exploit, but from another point its not. I dont know :(

He, (the guy who got it), claimed it to be more effective, and comes with more ammunition than the 2 rounds that the Insurgent pick-up kit provides.

I'm not really sure because I haven't played either kit very much.

Sounds like their more affective.

I managed to get my hands on one and yes, it is a hell of a lot more effective. Making 90 degree turns and ****, took out a bunch of airpower. The guy he is talking about is probably Snyper Jesus (aka *TA* Snyp3r Jesus) I've been trying to get this guy banned for a week now. He is actually doing it right now, a guy on USMC was complaining about him doing that.

Hey, I was the squad leader in that story :) Yay I'm famous hehe
But to be fair though we hit a bunch of stuff but never managed to bring one down, so basically the kit just served to annoy them. :(

But really who cares about the AA kit. If he was stealing something they needed like the sniper kit or marksmen that might be a problem... (and I probably would have turned down his offer to get it)

I think thats one that is damn near impossible to enforce, but If you ever get the chance you should.
I mean at least a warn/kick...

I GUESS you could justify it as "having an inside man" :p , but its just exploiting things if you ask me.
(Though didn't the dev's to this to make the M95 squad  )

I can't STAND that guy.. he and his other clan members team killed me, navallord and kollog (two other players in my squad) several times on devfile for the dirtbikes and then laughed as they he drove away.. I punished them each time, he was auto kicked, but then came back with the alternate nickname with no 3 in it.. the whole *TA* clan deserves banning.. bunch of children that bring nothing to the community

Yes. I think this is cheating. Just like it would be cheating to have your buddy tell you on TS where enemy positions are, or having him sneak you a USMC sniper rifle, or having him go in and sabatoge his team's aircraft.

EDIT: This is not "the official" stance though, and does not represent action I will take as server admin. I'm waiting for eggman's stance on the issue for that.

I've never done this because frankly it has never crossed my mind, I will neither do it if the community views it as an expolit, HOWEVER, colaborating with enemy insiders does happen in real life too so in terms of realism this is certainly not unrealistic.

Fragging your officers occurs in real life, but we don't allow that in game (intentional TKing), do we?

IRL, if you frag your officers or collaborate with the enemy, you'll probably be killed. So to preserve realism, we should punish those that do this in-game, right?

I never argumented that it should be deemed as a valid tactic, only that there's realism to it.
Persecute people who do it for all I care (adds more realism IMO :P ), but don't remove the ability to do it, that would be like removing FF because it's not allowed.

He should be banned. No doubt about it.

Well can't do anything about it now, once something gets big, you can't always control it. (As in I was talking about how big Devfile is now and .5 ;) )

Theres a way to fix this. Let the Commander TK traitors. Executions.

I know I do it when a squad member doesn't listen to orders. I whip out my pistol and execute.
