Armor Driver Changes?

I searched through some of the other armor discussion topics but really didnt find a clear cut answer. I saw the post where eggman was talking about fixin the zoom bug and the cannon deviation and what not, but are there any changes planned for the drivers?
I swear i remember seeing a thread with something talking about having the driver be able to "pull the cover off so he could pop his head out". Thus a way to get a better field of vision? possibly make it the reverse of what happens with a humvee gunner (you push a button to duck your head). Instead of like what happens with the gunner, you can push the button to actually make yourself pop out and and then you leave yourself exposed and can move the mouse to see around?
Will there be a HUD option added so that they could have some compass headings? Anything you all suggest/find would also be greatly appreciated.

Tank Driver position is gone, replaced by a Commander who uses WASD to send commands to the (non existant) driver. Commander has 360 degree CITV type display. Just sorting out the kinks in this system now, not released to test yet.

So there are 3 positions still?
Commander, gunner/loader, and cupola gunner right?

More like
1. Commander / Driver
2. Gunner / Loader
3. Cuploa Gunner

Will the commander have a zoom feature?

Yes, it will navallord. It will be quite extensive as well, with multiple zoom levels.

Is this going to help sort out 'who' [which gunner invovled] is talking to what driver when there are multiple vehicles being used in a squad.
Am I the only one confused by this? Eggman could you please explain that again for dummies?

what.. so is the tank commander going to be on top of the tank and able to be shot out?? please say no. the current tank driver setup is perfect, just need a reverse cam (which is realistic). I personally think combining tank commander and driver is terrible.

as Fish explains it is how it works. having a lil trouble with the zoom, but hopefully will have that sorted shortly.
the commander view to the world is not an "unbuttoned" view, it's through a CITV type electro optical display.
T62 will be slightly different.

Incorporates a commander view into the driver's position for the wider visual range the tanks should have already. I get it now. Not a directional guide or communication system.
That's going to help out the driver a great deal .
I saw WSAD and instantly jumped to conclusions of an OFP-ish style direction system.
I'm still excited over this.

Would we be seeing this implemented to APCs also?
With them being a spawnpoint and kit provider (and all this activity happening at the rear doors too) I see them as one of the armor pieces most desperately requiring this sort of awareness. Either that or a button to acsess some sort of rear view cam

APCs get a little thing that the driver can use (or not) to go "beep, beep, beep" when backing up

in DCon the passangers of a APC have a bell that can press if they want to bail
would be cool to hae something like that
