Impement -Bullet hits cause slowdown or Knockback effect.

I would love to see some more effects tied to bullet strikes. Heck even in CS bullet strikes slow you down. I would like to see a more drastic effect maybe 60-70 % of the time when you get hit with a round. Just yesterday I was an spec ops on insurgent side and a marine laying prone on a building saw me first at about 50 meters...shot me very well M16 in the chest I think (nearly bled to death afterwards)...his first shot didn't kill (fine) me but I reacted quickly and, from a standing position turned and shot three rounds...one of which struck him in the face. I thought to myself...sheesh that reminded me of CS...you lay into someone close range and they ever so easily turn and whack you in the face with a pistol/rifle. IRL you would think that if you got hit in the chest at 50meters from M16...that you wouldnt be able to turn and pop him in the face typically...not saying its impossible...but hey it should be really rare. I also dont like it when I'm shooting someone and they can ever so easily keep sprinting after being tagged by a bullet. Now I understand hitboxes etc...but when I get hit with a bullet I think that I would at least stutter step...but as it is now...the majority of the time I can still spring willy nilly where ever I want until I catch some more bullets. I think a bullet disabling you a little more is in need. I think this is a fairly important issue...and not having it still leads to far more of an aracady expeirience. I think it also weakens the CQB classes, as they rush in with lower powered guns knowing that all they need to do to protect themselves is hit someone once/twice in the chest and then finish them off...thats why spec ops guns have high ROF and low recoil...no need for headshots to neutralize your enmy(thought low recoil/high ROF helps that). SO I propose that getting hit causes more disabling effects (maybe like 60-70% of the time...or depending on where you are hit).
1-When you get hit, it bumps your aim off at least. Maybe only on chest hits
2-If hit in chest area you get fairly stunned (can't keep sprinting/jumping like Carl Lewis still), heck I'd like to see some knockdown effects then allowing the "Finish him" shot

ooooh yeah, imagine the love from shotguns now!...thats probably hard coded though.
These are just base ideas...and I dont think stun effects have to last for 5 seconds...maybe only for one sec or half second. Anything that stops the "I shot someone in the chest at 50 meters and he jumped...turned...proned and popped me in the face" kind of thing
I think this would revolutionize the realism of the game...and certainly take care of the CQB combat issues of spraying and praying while circle-strafing. Please though add more ideas...this is just one, I'd love to see more creative solutions.

I like the idea, cause in CQB in RL you think...I pretty much have to catch a guy with a good round or two..then I can drop to a knee and place my shots well enough for the finish as that first good round or two will have messed him up decently giving me a distict advantage most of the time. Here in PR you think...I have to place my rounds whilst dodging their return fire because a basic shot to the chest has little effect on their aim at 10 meters. *insert circus circle straffing* Dont think of this as a complaint please..cause its not.

completely agree - even a more pronounced concussive effect like in Day of Defeat Source combined with a total depletion of stamina when hit would please me

i'd love to see this ingame, but is it possible?

Ah nice Skeletor, depletion of stamina...like getting the wind knocked out of you, love it. I'm all for the max realism effects here, but if no knockback/aim_bounce then a much more concussive effect would probably work. Maybe even that weird Jimi Hendrix vision effect would suffice if only for a second. I think for now though, this area is kind of breaking the gameplay in a lot of situations.

well this was tried during either .4 or .5 Beta versions, but problem was if u shot a tank with a mag of 5.56, it would go abotu 20 feet backwards
Maybe could be relooked at in the future tho

Ha, that must have been funny to see! Yeah I would take anything here that accomplishes a similar result = disabling the guy who gets shot to a realistic extent.

well god effect would be that bullet hit makes you:
1. insta stamina loss,
2. switch player to prone position and
3. to holster his weapon...
followed with:
1. strong hartbeat sound and
2. some vision/camera shake
(effect - like when you shot in front of your self verry close)

I love this idea, only why holster weapon? is that to simulate dropping it or something?

On the subject of people turning around and firing massed bullets at you regardless of the great chunks of flesh that they once had in their chests: does no one else think the ROF of the m4 is.... FREAKING INSANE????

Thats another topic Jedi, but yeah holstering your weapon seems a bit much...I think really messed up vision is a must because what if your enmy is already prone and not wanting to run...I still dont want him to be able to return fire unabieted if I shoot him first. Is there also a way to base the effects on where you get hit? Lots of guys get shot in the shoulder or leg and dont notice it I think (adrenaline, shock)...but a good chest region shot needs to have some pretty dabilitaing effects. Man if this gets implemented I think it will really improve the gameplay a lot. No more running all over carelessly across open streets. I like the "prone" effect...its hard enough to hit guys running (due to hitboxes) so if you do make a good hit then at least you will get a chance to make the kill instead of super soldier sprinting safely to medic with 80% of his life gone. .6 pls! Dev's? Rhino?

The other thing I don't like about not having this is that its so easy to just sprint away immediately to safety once you get shot. So its like you get punished for shooting a guy being that your position is typically compromised afterwards...and to boot you didn't get a kill cause no headshot and the guy still has full abilities as well.
This happens to me a lot, I see a soldier running through the woods...I pop him a good one...then he's gone like a deer back to his medic...ambush was useless. This is a fun tactic that is nerfed as of now.

I wonder if it would be possible to make it so that when you get hit in the vest you become critically wounded and instantly get revived.

Put the weapon down so he can't shoot while being shot. I hate that so much. I'm unloading into a guy and he shoots back and kills me.

I tried something to make a better "hit" effect, but it didn't work. I never figured out why.. it should have worked heh. Might revisit it again in the future but it was quite time consuming to get it sorted to where it is today.
I also had the bullets knocking you back a huge amount but there were side effects that were really bad and I haven't figured out how to get rid of them.
When modding you sometimes need to take a break from stuff that gets frustrating heh.

lots of good ideas.. but one I don't agree with, being put into prone position with your gun out? you are in the perfect position to return fire? just like most vanilla players already do, being prone will be exactly what they normally do.. what about kneeling or crouched with your gun away, if there was a way to have no weapons out at all? so you have to select the weapon again?

Leave out the knocking back stuff. Just make it so you loose all stamina, go crouch or prone, drop the gun down so you can't shoot, add the effect as if shooting a wall in front of you. Then it will be fine.
