I am not suggesting i am just asking. Are you guys going to leave the M249 as the British MG or are you going to skin a Minimi version? If im wrong about anything let me know but from all the pics i have seen of the minimi it looks nothing like the gun the british have now.

Brits have an M249 in their arsenal (I haven't used 'em much)?

From what I have read it's the same weapon just given a different name. That picture just has the Para stock (which the USA also uses) and an optical sight, basically cosmetic differences but the weapon is the same.
Take a look at this album.

I wish we had the M249 with the short barrel in game, it looks fugly with the long barrel. And I see tons of the short barrel ones in pics/videos of troops in Iraq. Also, it needs the rail system in game, another thing on the m249 I see in alot of pics etc from real world.

It's the FN Minimi 'para'. Shorter than the US equivelant. It's in the pipeline

The main differance, except for barrellenght and stock, is the replaceable barrels on the FN minimi para. You get two barrels with the FN minimi.

Main visual differences between the FN MiniMi and the M249 are that the Minimi has a different foregrip which lacks the grooves but has a grippy pattern on the sides and it does not have the heatshield covering the barrel. The stock is also retractable (which is also optional on M249 iirc)

I am all for such realism changes and you "say its in the pipeline", but considering the very limited or no impact on gameplay it will have, i do hope to god, the adjusting or re-modeling of certain transport jeeps are ahead of it in "the pipeline".
I not trying to be a fcking ***, but i am just considering the level of effort worth gameplay affect, and providing a very relavent example. I am sure you understand my point.
e.g replace 50cal with
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:M240 ... 04iraq.jpg and get a much greater gameplay change......

Is it me or is the SAW too shiny... it's like you're the first person to ever use it and it's never been scratched or got mud on it.

Well, considering that PR is still set in the same timeframe as BF2.. ie five years from now.. having more .50 than 7.62 mounted weapons makes more sense to me. It's not like the .50 is uncommon now.

haha.. a lot of stuff is new looking, imagine an engine that things could build up dirt on, or take damage, like a rpg black spot on a tank, that would be awesome.
