Muzzle Flashes

For realism, muzzle flashes should really be added to the guns in PR. It has to be possible, because they are in BF2 vanilla. Are they going to be added to future releases of PR? I don't play Counter Strike, but the muzzle flashes and loud realistic gun sounds add a huge amount for realism. I love the mod, but this would be my one suggestion. Thanks for the great work!!

PS- If you need help, I can easily create realistic muzzle flashes, (mainly for video effects), but I have not used BF2 editor and am unsure if those effects can be rendered in it.

Uhm... there are no big muzzle flashes in reality... PR already went to the max level of realism there.

They are in Vanilla, and were taken off ages ago on this mod.

LMAO, you think CS is real?

I seriously don't hope they put them back in.

One problem is the lighting effects on the surroundings when shooting, when there is no muzzle flash.

yes huge muzzle flashes are unrealistic, you hardly see them you do get the odd one every few rounds, but its rare unless you are using poor ammunition, of has a dirty barrel.

it's also been discussed many times before.
Can we just have muzzle flashes?

Missing Muzzle Flashes

with some experience, i think muzzle flashes occur on full auto or on sub-machine guns.

basically its there whenever you fire a shot but because there is sunlight, it disappears before it can register on your brain

Muzzle flash depends on the weapon. Rapid-firing an M4 will show a pale muzzle flash occasionally. Pistols (at least my Walther P99) make this reddish ball flash. The Mosin-Nagant M44 makes a huge muzzle flash.

I'm happy with the lack of muzzle flashes. I do want to see more smoke added in though. Doesn't look like there's enough.

make it civil war style so there are giant amounts and smoke and sparks coming out the front of the gun.

hehe

That would help me locate the enemy hiding in the brush on Mao Valley--never can see those guys, but they can always see me.

You do realize it is at night.... Muzzle flash is usually only noticeable at night.

+ that is hardly the star pattern in BF2, more of a bright cloud

Yeah, muzzle flash is fake.

Muzzle flash mainly depends on barrel length, but some rifles like the Mosin Nagant will have a guaranteed fire ball. :)

No one said it was fake; it's merely exaggerated in games and movies
