Airstrikes and CAS

I've been thinking of ways to implement requests for airstrikes and CAS, but have the planes controled by players.. So here goes..
Give squad leaders the ability to request an airstrike. That request is sent to the commander, along with an icon showing the location of the requested strike, and the commander then approves, or declines the request. If approved, he then selects one of the air assets, and an order to attack is given to the pilot. Maybe even make it so that the order is given to the aircraft, if its sitting empty on the ground, and as soon as a pilot enters, the order is given to that pilot. The pilot would then have an icon on his map, and nav/target box on his HUD to attack.
CAS would be similar. A squad leader would send a request to the commander, and an icon would appear above the requesting squad to indicate who requested it.Then the commander would approve/decline the request. When approved, the order would be sent to a plane/pilot and the pilot would then have an icon on the map, and maybe a nav diamond that stays on the squad leader for the pilots HUD. The pilot is then assigned to provide CAS for that squad until relieved, winchester, or ordered to do something else.
Last.. A new VOIP channel will need to be added, if possible. One for pilots only. With two exceptions. The commander would have access to this channel. And when a request is approved by the commander, the squad leader would join as well, but only for the duration of the strike/CAS mission. This is so that the squad leader can act as a FAC, and talk the pilot in on targets.
