I can't be the only one.
E6600 2.4 Ghz
Nvidia 8800GTX
2024mb Ram - Dominator sticks
Vista 32-bit
Is there anyone else with this map that only literally gets 2 fps? Every other map plays fine at 12xx res with max fine but this map is HORRIBLE.
I just don't understand what the **** happend? Drivers?

I see searching it's a known issue that it can run choppy, on low end machines.
I have a high end system and its 2 fps, obviously an error in the game since every other map or game runs great.

You're probably not running the right drivers. Try downloading the Nvidia 101.70 beta drivers; they work great for my 8800 in vista, but i still prefer 101.02 in XP.

sorry
but it's you
I have a much lower system and while I do lag my FPS is in the 30-70 range
Post your settings and maybe someone can suggest something.

Yep, definitely you. My system is also lower-end, but runs it fine (on low settings, mind; only have 1GB of RAM).

your problem is caused by a 32-bit 4 letter word that is named after a credit card company, its at the bottom of your specs.
this 4 letter word uses almost 2 gigs of ram by it self, so get 2 more gigs or go back to the 2 letter older operating system that starts with a X and ends with a P...shit

You know... whenever someone posts a topic "omg wtf this is borked, fix it now plz!!!" I just get an urge to reply with "Go fix it yourself". I wonder why that could be...

JasonH, I got the same problem.
Hers what I got:
AMD 64 Dual Core 2.4Ghz CPU
2GB of RAM
ATI X1600 512MB
Windows Vista 32Bit
With Windows XP, every single PR map worked just fine with graphics settings all on high. With all high settings I use to get 60+FPS in Al Basrah. But as soon as I installed Windows Vista, my performance dropped by a lot. I can still run every PR map with graphic settings on High (AA x6), but to get 60+ FPS in Al Basrah I need to bring down textures to medium. So the problem is Vista.

Pardon my "Al Basrah is bugged" title, didn't mean to offend.
I'm just saying since it's an issue with vista has anyone tried doing a workaround to it (and thus possibly fixing it) as to where you don't hafto drop textures to medium? I can do that but I'm not gonna keep doing that everytime the rotation brings up Al Basrah, that's just silly.
And why is it only basrah? Might be a texture(s) causing the incredible slow down. I'm no coder so I don't see how I could open up what you guys have worked so hard on, to find the problem. But it is vista, but at the same time basrah's the only map. Code/texture, whatever it might be. It could be an issue with soley the map, since it's only this map. Just hope future maps don't do this aswell.
It just sucks to hafto find another server (which is quicker to do) than say goto the options, lower the textures, go through the longer load time. Just to play for 20 minutes, rinse and repeat.
But in the end, prmm has been a great mod and I've followed it since the beginning. I got really attached to it when 21cw gave it a go when bf2 came out to see what they could learn from it.
Oh and mini-mod is too little of a word to use for what has become more than 'mini'.

Performance wise everything is 60+fps on high with everything maxed *pets 8800gtx* 'cept when it comes to Basrah

Have you tried Katarn's suggestions of getting the latest gfx drivers? (he suggested 101.70 beta)
I agree, it's weird how it's only in one map... I'm not aware of anything done differently in basrah that could cause it.

Downloading the BETA drivers right now, hope it works.

Will I guess you got a good point there. Howcome every other PR map works just fine, but Al Basrah works like shit on Vista? I know Windows Vista has its problems, but there has to be something wrong with Al Basrah too.
