Please make the RPG kits such that you can only get them from an ammo dump. It would make the ammo dumps much more important and change the game dynamics such that it will be possible to have strategic victories and losses, in addition to tactical ones. This would make the game much more interesting for both sides on Al Basrah.

Maybe we can also have objectives for USMC to destroy the ammo dumps too...

I would like to see the caches serve as static spawn points for the Insurgents. They would function just like the static rally points, this way the Insurgents can request kits from them. It would make the ammo caches alot more useful, and would give them something else to spawn on rather than solely relying on spawn cars. Not to mention more reason for the U.S to destroy them as well.

I don't know about that idea of limiting the RPG's and the spawn point is not a good idea at all.
I can wipe out all the ammo dumps, alone, in less than 10 minutes while village is still being fought over.
If you added spawn to the them but did not reduce the number of spawn cars that might get people to defend the ammo caches which does not happen now.

Wouldnt mind seeing that implemented.

I just want the insurgents to have to request the RPG kits from something destructable so that strategic objectives such as defending/destroying ammo dumps become more important.

so then, after the ammo dumbs would be destroyed there would be no defence against armor? Except IEDs of course, but destroyin an apc/tank which has infantry support with an IED is pretty damn hard.
And besides, I love the rpg kit. It's very different from all other insurgent kits, and it's good against both infantry and armor, but you still need to choose your targets because you only have very little ammo with you, and it's not too accurate either.

Yes...
your point? Armor should be DAMN hard to destroy. Right now the only way to effectively use it is sit a mile away from the battle and pick off the morons who try to get close to you. You're as good as dead the second you enter the city.
I mean, I thought one of the major points of .5 was how airpower/armor should be able to stay alive the whole round, so long as they are using teamwork. Go on an Al Basrah server and you'll see, after shooting down 5 A10s, 7 Cobras, and taking out 13 APCs and 4 Abrams, all in one round, that this is not the case

the 1st and only time I've played with armor in al basrah (like 2 days ago) I managed to get around 7 kills with my apc, then the round ended. Right now it's not too easy to destroy armor, rpg doesn't do much damage. And after you get hit once or twice you can always retreat a little and repair.
But my point was that if a few USMC dudes manage to go and blow up most/all of the ammo dumps then apcs and tanks become almost invulnerable.
Yes, they should be hard to kill, but it shouldn't be impossible.

APCs can be taken out with a well placed molotov

With IEDs and jihad cars, it's not (impossible to take out armor). It's pretty easy, if you've got the patience and ingenuity. You shouldn't be trying to take out armor with RPGs. APCs only. And not everyone should have an RPG ready to shoot at infantry. That's just not at all realistic.

Well, there would also be that regenade armor division, but the way that I see things, IEDs are currently not important enough. Making RPG kits only avaliable through requests at ammo dumps would make IEDs much more important.

It should be if the insurgents have no weapons that can be used against them, which is the case in places like Iraq and Afghanistan when all of the RPGs have been confiscated. It is not like the insurgents can manufacture those.

To add to that, people are currently spawning on Al Basrah with RPGs and shooting them at the first US infantry that they see, which is also not very realistic.

Considering Light AT will be a limited kit in future releases of PR, it will probubly follow that the RPG gunner for the insurgents might become a pick up kit or some such.
In conclusion:

I'd be worried about that only because I've seen Helo's and A-10's actually take out ammo dumps (don't know how, either through the walls or ground) with bombs/rockets. Maybe if they were made more secure and stronger, they'd be a worthwhile asset that could be toyed around with in the future.

hahah, and then there is also those cars ect where you can get ammo from.
But still most of the time (unless you are in a good squad) you need to fall back a little to get more ammo. So it's not like you are shooting with the rpg all the time.
