ok so there are a lot of new players coming into the PR community and a lot of Pro PR players are flaming them.
NOOBS im here to help if u have a question on this forum give me a PM and i'll happily answer them.
ok just to list the changes this mod adds

Realism changes:
No crosshairs >>>>>> this mod will not feature any sort of crosshair whatso ever

NO parachutes ><>>>> this mod is based on realism there will not be any kind of chute for any of the classes except for one request class

JUMPING out of a car gets you killed or very badly injured>>>>> your screen will blur and you will not be able to see properly!

ONE shot can kill you >>>>>>> one nicely placed shot can kill you instantly please stay with your squad

BLURY vision >>>>>> if you have been shot you may be badly injured whereby you cant see properly and your screen is wobly, you begin to cough Shout for a medic remember if you are badly injured you will not be able to sprint! call for a medic or if you scroll down your weapons at the very bottom you will see a first aid kit. swap to it and drop it on the floor><><><

IMPORTANT : once you drop a fist aid kit on the floor you must wait a second until it stops shaking around. After it stops just walk over it and you will be healed. However if you are badly injured it may not stop the bleeding and you will need a medic!

VBF2 PRO HELICOPTER PILOTS BEWARE : if you think yo are a really good pilot in VBF2 remember this is a totaly different game! if you want to fly a heli you must:
1.JOIN A SQUAD

2.Press T scroll down to pilot and click, to get a kit you must be at least in the Zone of requesting 27 meters from the flag zone or you can request one at an APC or a heli

3.GET in the heli. Wait at least 30 seconds before you torque (press w) and after the 30 secs is up you can fly
you must wait 30 secs before you can fly BECAUSE if you torque too early you will flip. D/W its not a bug It has happened to everyone at least once playing PR!

GAMEPLAY CHANGES:

Requseting kits:
to request a kit you must first join a squad. once you have joined a squad press T near a flag (at least 20 meteres away)
look at the top right hand corner of the screen if the quarter master has issued you a kit press G.
you will now have your kit. make Sure you dont die!
remember there is a limit on some kits (i.e sniper and marksmen and Support)

SL's (Squad leaders)
IF you are going to create a squad>>>>:>:> you must work with them, give them orders and set down rally points.
If you are going to be a SL please use VOIP (voice communication)

Rally points
1.to make a rally point you must FIRST become a SL
2. get an officer kit
3 press Q and you should see set rally point
4. HIDE THE RALLY POINT>>>> rally points are easliy Destructible

FOR commanders :
PLEASE PLEASE if you are a commander use your VOIP (voice communication)
and dont fight with everyone eles. if you are to become commander stay at the main base and issue oders to your team

press V to communicate with your sqd leaders, you can mute some so they dont hear you and just talk to a few SL's

We gave out the guide for all the noobs, don't worry about typing this big thing! Give them instructions to read the thing that installed to their desktop next to their shortcut. Sadly, a lot don't notice it.

or even delete it right off.... Like me.....

i think there should be a questionaire introduced, the first time you load PR you get it and if you dont score 100% then it will just CTD, suppose it would make people read the guide a little more often.

i actually made this thread because new playes dont read the wiki and normally come straight to the forums to complain about the mod. i complained once when i was a noob in the suggestions forum beacause i couldnt fly a little bird lol

new players comimng through here should check out the PR tournament it plays like WAW for FH but should be an enjoyable experience for everyone!

Would it be possible to implament a basic in game guide, a interface similar to the ENTER KEY screen but with the sole purpose of providing all players with basic info and certain/ very select peices of more complexinfo ??? For example:

Provide advise on kit pick up
Gettting inside vehicles
Starting up of heli engines.
Electing a pointman



REAL PURPOSE: REMIND PLAYERS OF THINGS TO DO WHEN IN THE ROLE OF ***(e.g SL, pilot, medic)****
Most very new players would not probaly check, but those who where quite new would use it to advance there skills, becuase how many players at the moment find Squad Leading easy????? This guide woudl provide them with a simple 10 or less points to remember and, as i said above, a few more advance tactics (point men ext.)


And its most basic levle it would contain, 3-5 main sections that woudl break down in to less than 10 smaller sections, resulting in around 30 - 50 key points.


IF possible, it would be made kit relavent. There would be a basic general section (kitpick up, get in side APC, spwn poitns ext.) but there would also be kit specific advise, for example:

SL KIT:
- how to place rally points, where (near flag but well hidden - simple/clear advise)
- YOUR JOB IS TO KEEP YOUR SQUAD MEMBERS ALIVE, HEY DIE AND YOU HAVE FAILED - one case where such crude and brutal advise in neccessary
- Try to attack flags from the side, pick the rout you/every one would normal take and then go to the left or right or it.
COuld have a small heading labeled "TACTICS:
- Pointman, elect a player from your squad to lead, tell every one to follow him and NOT YOU. Set waypoints for him to move to, and then update when he reaches. PURPOSE: keep you alive.

PILOT KIT:
- Warm of period on helis (would put this in kit specific IF possible, IF not all woudl go in general
- Avoid areas where players concentrate, FLY AROUDN THE EDGES OF THE MAP (some form of advise to tel them not to fly strait)

this thread is to help new players if anyone has any tips info post them here.

The way I see it; New players either love it and learn it or hate it and leave it. We win either way. Remember; it's Project Realities name that attracts the quality players. They understand there's gotta be a somewhat steep learning curve (or noob* filter as I understand it to be...heh-heh)

*noob in my personal dictionary does not mean new player. I incounter noobs walking the streets every day.

I might be wrong, I might be right. But somehow I feel that this is like singing to the choir. So to speak. Strangely enough, it is not the old timers that are giving the new folks a hard time. It is the folks just getting to "grips" with the game that are hazing the new folks.

Still I get this feeling that for everyone writing - "Noobletts - read this" though well meaning, might be getting it wrong. "You who just thought you got this thing down, zip it idiot!". Now theres a thread that I would love to read.

Then again, I would love some idiot to team up with me with an idea of singleplayer challenges of "how to" in mapping. I knew how in other mods, this? I would rather read (as mentioned in another thread) read more about holocaust.

They could replace the map loading music with an audio track of eggman explaining how to play PR.

It needs more then a cleaning it needs a grammar overhaul.

I think PR went to hell in a basket after .4 and definetly after the .5 release because vBF2 started settling down and people started looking for the mods. I have faith in the veteran community of PR to with-hold the standards of game play by just continuing to play like veterans and people if they want to have fun with this mod will learn to play like "veterans."

Preferred manner of dealing with idiots, n00bs, "insert preferred term". Kick them from your squad, fill it with someone deserving of it. Ignore them. In the worst case scenario switch teams or find a different server.
