Bases

I always hated how poorly designed bases would be in previous battlefield games. Please make the ingame main bases somewhat realisitc equipped with static weapons and such I always felt cheated when in a game my main base looked like a 5yr old set it up.

yes i agree.....i think in this game a base should be a warehouse or an entire building...or something to that affect.....in order to control that control point you must control all of it in order to capture it....like the bagdad airport for instance...it was an object in the war to liberate iraq....we didnt capture that goal until we captured all of it and had it completely under US military control.

On that note it kind of gives me an idea for a map. Build a map centered around a large international airport. Airborne elements can be dropped in a similar fashion to the drops in northern Iraq and the ones done in Panama to catch Noriega. Small zodiac boats might be another method of insertion. Upon capture of the runway(s) and control tower, light vehicles can become available to the attacking side via cargo planes landing. Terminals, power generators, etc. could be used as other objectives which need to be captured/defended.

These are some neat ideas, however I would like to point out a fact which is somewhat a new stumbling block (regarding 'static maps'. like those in DC/BF42) which EA/Dice have added. Maps will be adjustable by the server according to the number of players that server playing in-game. There is a three circular tier system inplace according to EA/Dice, the inner most ring or inbounds zone would be for the fewest number of players while if there are 100 max players on a server all three circular inbounds zones would be open and be fair-game territory to play in, while if the number of players drops, the outer (max) ring may become inactive; alerting players in the outer zone that they need to get to inbounds territory or face getting out-of-bounds auto-killed. This prevents having to play a 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 game with a huge map designed for 100 people! lol

So mappers have to create maps according to a new style of layout which would work with the tier system to not have things become unplayable depending on the # of players on the server. Understand? :)

yes the airport could be done...with the least amount of players they could play the airport part of the map...when theres a mid range of players then have the local surroundings of the airport included....and then when the player # is maxed out...then you can play the entire city that the airport is in
