Squads and Weapons Issuing

Yo, I've been playing PR for a while and I wanted to throw out this idea. I
looked on the First few pages of this Forum, because I don't want to bring up
a dead topic
I like the idea of Limiting Kits. The Current System is good. Promotes Squad
play and keeps the game from turning into a mess. But in the end it kinda
screws over individual squads. I feel a new distribution system needs to be
more squad level. For instance. Each Squad (all full squad with 6 members as the example)
should be able to acquire as a squad. 1sniper/marksmen kit. 1 Squad level
support weapon. etc. Now The squad would have to have a minimal amount of people in it lets say 4. I feel a system like this would work much better then the
current.
I am just so sick of being in a squad with 5 other people working very closely
together and needing a certain kit. Lets just say A sniper is on a crane pinning
my entire squad down. We can't take him out and hes completely jabbing a
wooden pike in our efforts to take our objective.
The Two Hobos on our team who happen to be hogging both the Rifles and
not putting them to any good use. Every full squad should have a right to a
sniper Kit, and the other goodies that come with working as a Team.
Please if any one has any comments or disagreements with this suggestion. I
would like to hear em
Peace

AT long range stuff. 9 snipers on a team is to much. nine heavy AT or SAWs on a team is to much.

I agree, I've been in this position as well, it sucks. I think it'd promote a more cohesive/effective squad effort as well. When things aren't working as a squad then people kind of do their own thing. Also, it will allow for more complex tactics, as so many times I've needed a support guy in my squad but its not always feasible due to limitations. I think I've heard about something very similar to this in the next build though so I wouldn't worry.

Too many.
At that rate, you're going to have more snipers and support gunners than you are regular riflemen, who are supposed to be the core of the ground forces. As it stands already you get very few riflemen if you're USMC.

I think it should be left the way it is. Because if this happens your gonna have people just joining squads to get the gun and then they run off to do their own thing.

Isn't that what the majority of them do anyway? or at least in my experience thats what they do.
Me personally, I'm almost always a medic, if I'm not a medic then I'm the Officer Kit because I'm normally squad lead with my friends. I rarely see true squad work in PR even though its promoted most of the time, the best random squad I've joined was with Top Cat and that went well till he left then the whole squad scattered to the 4 winds.

They do try to do that but there aren't enough kits open for this to really be that annoying. And since you admit to seeing it already than can you imagine it if every squad had their own kits?

How about each squad is allowed 1 sniper/marksmen/support kit at any given time and there are no more than 4 snipers/marksmen and 5 support kits allowed in total?

Yeah, cool idea and I totally agree, but the kits would still have to be regulated on a team basis. Add even 1 more sniper per team for instance and you'll feel the sting guaranteed. That being said, I'd love to see this happen with a kit like "Grenadier". Make it a specialized kit, 1 per squad. There will be less whorage AND every full squad still has its awesome power at their disposal.
yeah

Another related problem that is easily fixed: special kits being taken by the enemy and hugged the entire round.
This is no different from a vanilla player stealing a chopper and keeping it in a remote part of the map. I say treat the special kits as the vip kit for opfor; you take it, you die.
I know some like fuzzhead there like to do this and laughed at the opposing team for "losing their at", but seriously it's normal to die in this game, and the AT is vital for the team. If the opfor hugs both your HAT's , you're toast, going into the meatgrinder for the rest of the round.
It's bad enough that none-teamplayer get the special kits most of the time (they spend half their time at the rallypoints requesting stuff), it's worse if you have old vanilla tactics coming back through the back door. Don't come saying "yeah like you know, I'm denying assets..."! Heard that all too much, it's just doublespeak for "I don't like to fight an enemy on even grounds". Might as well go hacking.

You really dont need one sniper in each squad. The upcoming limited ligth at somewhat bothers me because in certain maps a squad should have 2 light at guys....they spot a apc, guys move up...boom..boom...APC down. But with the amount of light at abusing i agree its a necessary step. I like the idea of one one support gunner is each squad though.

Get rid of the Sniper Class altogether = Solution

Oh man think of the outrage if you got rid of the sniper kits

People would **** all over PR " I can't lone wolf effectively without my sniper kit!" "No sniper kit!, **** now I have to actually get into the fight"

The Devs should release 0.6 without any sniper or marksman kits and then two or three days later a patch to add them back in as they are now, that would be funny
I like the idea of limiting the quantity of kits in a squad but not guaranteeing each full squad certain weapons. I have been in countless squads that have both the marksman and the sniper kit. Add in a SAW and you only have a few guys actually moving forward. You have a SL hanging back with his guy on the SAW and the sniper trying to find a decent spot to cover you from, your left with three guys advancing on a flag. In a perfect PR world this could work but if you get guys who grab the weapon and go for kills you start degrading the squad. I like the idea theory but I'm scared of how it will play out.

Well you couldn't Have 9 Snipers on your team in the way I'm thinking of it.
The Squad has to have a certain number of People. You have to have..lets say
6 people in your squad.....32/6.....would be 5 at max. I was thinking that the
Sniper and Mark kit would count both as 1 kit. So you squad "Marksmen" can
choose for the best situation. And I don't mean Carrying two weapons at the
same time. I mean Your squad can only have either 1 Sniper Rifle or 1 Marks.
It gives the troops what they need! and Keeps things in check. Promotes Team Play...and make Me a VERY happy panda!
Also Having the Kits set up like this would make them more useful. Getting the damn weapon
to the guys shooting. I was also thinking that maybe it could be changed so you can select a
special weapon from the spawn interface rather then a rally point or base. Have it in the
spawn interface. The Kits available to you, and Squad level Kits available. So lets say the
Heavy AT is already issued, it would just show up greyed out and you couldn't select it. just a thought.

Also the Kit would be less of a "big deal" with every functioning Squad operating
with a Sharpshooter the sniper would become less of a Fancy toy to abuse, and
more of a integrated weapon system at your squads disposal, same goes for all
the other kits. But maybe remove the ability for the enemy team to "annex" your Special kits.
As in if the enemy picks up the Kit it could just be counted as gone and should
be able to acquire a new Rifle.
The biggest thing I like about this system is I believe it would be self
moderate. No one squad can hog all the weapons, the Various weapon
capability is spread out over the whole team.
