I played Sunset City and Operation Compton for a bit today. I forgot how fun the different maps were. I had *especially* forgotten how much I love the Chinese rifleman weapon. 9 kills before I died the first time, and ended up with a 21-6 KDR + 60 TW points.

For those of you that don't know, it's been over a month since I've played anywhere but DevFile. Basically since I became an admin.

Anyways, I had started to get a little bored with PR to be honest. But now I remember what I love about this mod. Going forward, I'll have to start playing other maps more. But I'll never leave Al Basrah as my principle map. It's just too fun.

It's the complete opposite for me. I had never really gotten to play Basrah, because of performance issues, but I put them on low and.........dear god where has this map been all my life?? It's pretty much got everything I want in a combined-arms map (sry Op Gresy Mullet). I get angry sometimes when all the slots are full. And I HATE ANYTHING RELATED TO THE CHINESE!! Too much grass and too weak-sounding guns...

I like the weak sounding guns. It doesn't give away my position as easily.

You guys are missing out on alot by only limiting yourselvs to al bashar. alot of great maps there and laot of new tactics and players to be found and tested. i can see how al bashra appels sto smoe but honestly i can play maybe 1-2 rounds of it and i get bored but thats just me...

I played the other maps a lot since 0.5 came out. But once I became an admin I just didn't do other maps. There's something satisfying about keeping a server at least somewhat smacktard free. Especially one like DevFile, where they just keep coming back.

What happened to CP Abadan? Was that the one with the bridge crossing and the Waterfront?!

Its gone, thankfully...

God I couldn't stand that map. Can you imagine having it with the new cobra and armor zooms? Yuck. Although you would have to patrol the river, which would be cool. But on a pub game, who'd do that?

QFT...even with the spelling issues Its cool though, the point is there.

Seriously though, I try to avoid Al Basrah whenever I can, so as to have some variety in my PR diet. Servers run the same maps OVER and OVER again, and it eventually becomes an Al Basrah/EJOD switcharoo on most servers it seems. There are still some maps that I have yet to even PLAY in .5! Basrah is a very fun map, but I wish more servers had better map rotations.

Tactical Gamer used to be a good server with a good rotation, but I found it passworded the other day...wtf is up with that...

Every now and then they will lock it up and run for Supporting members only and in-house matches. But Yes TG is a good server and a great community

Ah ok, so thats what that was about. Thanks for the info!

But what I would REALLY like to see is a good reliable extraction server, with a solid player count like Devfile or TG. Its really too bad there doesnt seem to be as much interest in Extraction like there is in the AAS.
