boats are the most underated means of transport

they can totally devestate and enemy team if you have a competent saquad in a boat.

no one bothers looking for boats either, infantry are too busy killing hummers, apcs killing infantry, tanks killing apcs and helicopters raping tanks.

meanwhile your in a nice boat wizzing towards the next flag.

maybe im just biased but the last few games ive played 5 of them i have been on a loosing team, joined a voip squad, then our squad used a boat and we finished winning after capping a **** load of flags.

i think it has to do with the profile of rivers, if you look at pr maps; all the rivers have steep banks along most of it with only a few shallow gradients. which means you are pretty much conceled because infantry and stuff are normally looking straight ahead and not down.

ps. they rock for sabotage, i went engie with a few others and we rigged the whole usmc motor pool, needless to say they were pretty much stuck.

yeh that was a good game, apart from loosing the government building every 2 secs.

One person always jumps in one at the start and leaves it down river without blowing it up. Takes forever to respawn then.

^^^ Yup.

But they're meant as disposable transportation. So....can't really get too annoyed about it.

Dude, I love boats. I use them every chance I get. The problem is the show up on the map when you all get out, and its a waste of manpower to leave someone in it.

I like boats and I love to see Giant boats in the Shape of HMS Southampton.

Guerra, it's what spec ops are for :p

When you beach, the spec ops guy stays behind, throws a Slam on it, then hops out (hopefully in time), and runs away. It shouldn't appear on the minimap for too long.

Oh, haha, I thought it said boots :) . The reason boats are so underrated is because they are so easy to destroy and kill the people inside.

Very True! They can turn the tide of the battle.

Everytime I try and get in a boat they are blown up within a minute.

You put a slam on your own boat and it'll get you negative points. You shouldn't have to resort to such tactics to keep stealth.

granted they are not strong but you should use their un obstrusiveness as your advantages.

it seems that most players also over look the grey boats provided they are not in obvious positions.

The problem with the boats in PR and BF2 in general is: they're a little bit weak. 1 rpg will kill a boat and anyone in it instantly and if you manage to jump out before impact you're totally exposed in the water. Not to mention everyone in the boat is exposed to fire and with only one mounted weapon they have little defence. Mayby they could put a slightly better boat in, till then your much better off in an apc crossing water.

And? Points are easy too make, you will make up for it with a kill. I personally Love destroying friendly stuff as Spec Ops. When ever a LB crew has been shot out, or a hummer has been deserted, i will be there with a SLAM too stop the enemy from stealing our stuff. ^_^

Um, you mean so it will respawn... cause they cant steal friendly cars anymore...

Yeah the boats are very useless. You can hear them from a mile off. If I'm near a river, I am on the lookout for the grey icon and make sure I grenade the area before looking over (friendlies would be on the map...). If I hear one, I normally can easily eliminate it with small arms fire, a grenade, or the dreaded SAW -- took out the boat and all 6 men in it before in seconds with it.

Qwai River needs something like a swiftboat or river patrol boat so that it would be easier to control the river which helps with control of the map.
