Nope, if the blackhawk is hovering in firing distance I'm sure that soldiers would shoot at it...

Well, we don't know that US troops would, because, well, we haven't fought an enemy in the last 50 years that has helicopters to shoot at, lol.

Those were RPG's. They are general purpose rockets. he asked about "Anti-tank" rockets.

Woot, thats good to hear. I love shooting helis with antitank on jabal. So much more effective than anti-air its not even funny. It's almost like going fishing where you have the lake (open space in jabal) and a trout (the heli) and you got to hook it
sorry for the analogy

I agree, the AA is worthless.

The Javelin anti-tank system is designed to be used against ground targets and low flying, slow speed aircraft, so yes, its realistic.

Well, the AA guns usually cant shoot down stuff in Jabal, since you can hear all over the valley, so the helis escape too fast...but a group of RPGs and a Blackhawk going slowly for a bit...."Bail out!", then 3rd person view of your roasted body in a husk

Ive noticed that the AA is placed in the most obscure places, places where you cant even get a good look at the heli before it disappears.

It is realistic ofcourse, hence the mujahideen used to shoot down hinds with RPGs b4 they were supplied with stingers.I watched a documentary(it was actually a mi24 doc) about it and their tactic was ambushing on some high ground and waiting for days and days till a helicopter flies within RPG's range, US lost some BHs in Iraq as well afaik.
But if you are asking about realism of AT rockets effectiveness in PR against choppers they seem very very effective.Maybe beyond RL...

in game, the "low flying" and "slow speed" are just suggestions though.

you dont need a group. Just get a HAT and wait until the vehicle is moving away from you. shoot behind it and lead the missile in to the target.

Nothing as good to scare a Cobra away as an RPG missile to the side

I still think that the cobra/BH should do that thing where it goes all wobbly and/or lose altitude when it gets hit by an RPG, because lets face it if your chopper gets hit by an RPG you are really screwed.
