Future of the DPV in PR

Was reading up on the DPV, and saw that for the most part it is completely replaced by the HMMWV (Humvee). It says that special forces use them, and that the marines DO still deploy them as they fit into the chopper they use and the humvee does not.

I also saw this

"The basic weapons on a DPV consist of a heavy .50 caliber M2 Browning machine gun, two lighter 7.62 mm M60 machine guns, and two AT4 anti-armor rocket launchers. In some cases, the driver's M60 or the gunner's M2 is replaced with a 40 mm Mk 19 grenade launcher."

Was wondering if we could get ourselves some of that hotness :p

DPV is hardly ever seen but whenever I get ahold of it, it makes some nice scouting / spotting. Is it going to be phased out or are we keeping it?

With how rare it is in the game I think it would be SWEET to give it all that!

DPV <3
Nothing better to race around and blow up RPs on Sunset City at beginning of the round.

personally Id like to see the DPV used only in very rare cases, and only when it fits the scenario (special ops scenario behind enemy lines type thing)

I dont see any current PR maps fitting a need for a DPV.

DPVs only have 3 seats and they are so fast, 1/2 a squad will get in one, and speed off down the road leaving the other 1/2 behind...

Light jeeps like the DPV thou are very good when a squad can get 2 light jeeps, then they go behind enemy lines in them etc :)

Just keep the DPV as it is...having a small, agile, light and fast vehicle with mounted grenade launchers or AT would be a nightmare for APCs and tanks...

EXCATLY, it would be a nightmare, for the APCs & tanks
if there were to fit an MK19 to the DPV it wouls an awesome infantry killer, or if it was to be fitted with an AT4, then it would pose a great threat to HEAVY JEEPS, but a minor threat to APCs/tanks
does any of this remind u of the 2142 Hatchimoto?

the MK19 idea sounds ok, but still keep the 50.cal DPV, mybe put both on a map
also it would be nice/realistic to get an Mk19 ingame aswell

i always felt like the Land rover was a DPV, even though its considerd a light jeep.

PS:I love hurtleing down Airport with a full landrover causing a rucus and reliving the days past when SAS used to do thier raids.

You're thinking of the IFAV

Perhaps, though I'd take the armament of the DPV over that of the IFAV any day :D

id like it to be given the ability to do big smoky burnouts. it would be good redneck entertainment.

meh the only thing a DPV is useful for in vanilla is being strapped on with C4 and then bombed...because of its agility and speed.
