Damage Systems

Damage Systems,

Okay, i was thinking while flying around some maps.
Ill start with hellicoptors,
I think it would be realistic and cool, if say the damage systems were changed, so say the hellicopter hits the ground, instead of a huge fireball, which i hate, maybe it could have a demorm on the model, liuke twist the frame, and suck, and instead of everyone inside being killed, have certain amounts of damage, depending how hard the chopper, me transferred to the people inside. There Could Be degrees of morfing to the model, say three, each one with more and more to it depending on how hard it hit, though keep in mind, they have a tendancy to "unwrap" and kill most of the people, but dependiong on the speed, such as most crashes in the game,the people should survive.

I was also wondering if it could be sorta the same with jeeps/trucks and even tanks,
Say the jeeps could have a suspention and axle health, and the wheels maybe could warp wierd if they went over a lot of bumps or whatever too fast, and including explosions. All the improvised explosive damage ive seen done to Humvees mostly, the people inside ar egenerally okay, but the humvees all warped and stuff. If a tank hits a mine, it could warp the wheels, and break the tracks, and bend the side skirts or something,immobilizing it, yet the gun can still traverse, and same with the turret, it could be hit in a specific spot, make it un traversable.

Top idea mate, this will make the battlefield feel much more realistic.

I would also like to see on wrecks, smoke plumes that tower off into the sky and dissipating at higher altitudes. This will up the atmosphere allot and you can see visually where the major conflict is happening.

not to play devil's advocate but I dont think most of this is implementable in the engine except maybe the smoke effects mentioned and having people survive crashes.

Big hollywood-style fireballs need to go, but instead there should be a lot of dust and debris kicking up. That is if it can be done without too much added weight to the CPU.

the only way that would be rawkin sexy is if it did crash with twisted metal and such if the people left alive in it were stuck and couldnt get out but still had the abilty to fend off attackers until they were killed
