Shooting medics punishable

In the laws of armed conflict/Geneva Convention. Medics/Padre's or anyone wearing a redcross, are protected and that they are not be shot (at). However if they can use it in defence, but if they lose the status if they fire without being fired upon. So say they are tending to a Casualty and they get shot, their killer can be punished, however they are not allowed fire at someone unless they have been fired upon.

So can somethink like that can be implemented

I'll just copy+paste this from the civillian discussion.
How would you prevent medics from;

jumping infront of cars, tanks, etc?
jumping infront of gunfire?
surrounding friendly vehicle, making it impossible for the enemy to destroy it without getting punished?

In my opinion you can't expect people on public servers to actually behave like medics, there's alot idiots out there who probably would abuse the system you're suggesting.

+^ . Not to mention, how does the game distinguish a threat from a non-threat? It doesn't.
If a medic points a gun at you but you land the first hit the game would still deduct points for that.

Besides it's not as if everyone obeys the Geneva Convention anyway.

The medics we have in game are combat medics. What those, from what I understand, are talking about are are unarmed doctors and medics etc. which we don't have ingame.

Isn't one of the insurgent a Doctor ?

What about removing his gun and making him civilian ?

yep.
If we are going to have medics who are not supposed to be killed then they should carry no weapons at all.

Well, whenever we get civvies ingame just pretend they are medics. You aren't allowed to shoot them without penalty. :-P USE SOME IMAGINATION.

Picture this, dead medic and a wounded soldier... Enemy firing at you... You, as the wounded soldier, pick up the medic's kit and you are "free" to run off because enemies aren't supposed to shoot medics... It won't work for PR

Do corpsmen come under this act?
Seems like 'corpsmen' is basicly a medic but can shoot and be shot at to make things easyer for a conflict to flow.
I.E if US faught Russia(lol clasic example) and Russia killed a medic, the US would go crazy over them breaking the rules over just one man and the russias would straight out denie it.
I think the corpsman is there to make life easyer for everyone.

...mongol...

In ww2 on eastern front for both sides as well as for japanese medics were priority targets,to lower morale amongst enemy(guy supposed to fix you is incapacitated, guy supposed to ease your pain is in pain).Infact i am sure everyside shot a lot of medics, destroyed lots of medevac vehicles or ambulances.

well.. according to the geneva convention a medic is allowed to have weapons, but he is only allowed to use that weapon in self defence, or to protect his wounded..

the suggestion would never work ingame as many of you allready have stated...

The easiest way to get around this problem is to take off the medic's red crosses/cresents. Then they are not covered by Geneva, and the problem disappears.

the germans used red cross vans to transport the poisongas for the jews and similar.
