Please add the Czech Hanomag, or some old left-over US Halftracks for the insurgents so my 3-5 buddies will cease their laughing at me for mis-identifying a BMP's rear as a SdKfz 251

Where are they gonna get ancient APC's?

Tons of left-over **** in those countries. Hell, the Croats still use Yugoslav export M36 Jacksons. Also, M18 Hellcats were used in the Yugoslavian civil wars during the 1990s according to my sources.

You may have won the battle, but you haven't won the war!

Even if they are actually being used by insurgents today, it would tough to model the vehicles...

I find it hard to imagine US and British forces fighting halftracks in the middle east.
this is a REALITY mod.

No I think his point is that such things do exist and still are used by some really crappy armies. If he can back his words with reliable information, then I dont really see why we cant add some extra stuff to the insurgents, who already are supposed to be an assymetrical force. Dont flaunt the "this is a REALITY mod" trump card before doing some research of your own, btw.

The REALITY of it is that the Russians did recieve US half-tracks of various types, as well as the captured German examples of the 251, as well as the Czhech "Hanomag" which is a 251 copy, and probably funneled them to these countries as aid during the Cold War. The Reds handed out BMPs and T-62's, why not some re-painted US/German Halftracks?
Just a thought.

Heissmann, even if they added a Halftrack, you still called out an "enemy halftrack" before they were added to the game. So you'd still get mocked.

Not even an awesome halftrack ingame would save you from your lameness, Heiss.

Isriel did use half-tracks until reciently, but not for any main combat role I don't think.

I think some other middle eastern countries used them.
If not Half-tracks, then how about Bren carriers? Those were used en masse by Russia, who loved them. They even built them in-house for a while. Slap an RPK in the machine gun port and voila.

Well, since people where using them, it wouldn't supprise me if the Insurgents got a hold of some, somehow.
